I have seen bikes with twice that rolling like it was new. Maintenance is the key to longevity.

Don't believe everything you hear.
I have 1000,000+ on my '04 TC. Maintenance, like the others said.

My 92 evo is still running strong with 104,000 miles on it.. I had a compression test recently and it came out close to perfect, almost like a new bike. I expect the engine to go 150,000 miles at least before needing any engine work. The bike has had the proper maintenance since it was new. Oil has been changed about every 2,500 miles.

I don,t think any set number would be right . As has been stated maintenance is the key as is your riding style . A sport bike or a road bike big difference in miles ? I see a lot of low milage used bikes for sale and wonder how well some are cared for .

If you simply disconnect the speedometer the bike does not know how many miles it has on it and will run indefinitely. Works the same for oil changes.

I knew what you meant, but it gave me the perfect lead-in to brag on an FXRT and on an Evo.

The only thing that will keep me from putting 100K on my road king is the overriding desire to get a new one in a few years!! LOL

Modern twin cams are capable of going well over 100k miles with proper maintenance. This is on a stock or nearly stock motor. The thing that brings most of these bikes down sooner is poor quality builds.

1) they don't "just give up"..... I'd blame the owner, not the bike
2) how many miles can YOU put on a bike???? hard to say. We're all different.
I'd probably NOT buy a 75,000 mile bike.... unless I actually knew the seller... there are far too many "low mileage" bikes you can buy.
However..... because I'm not prone to replacing something just because it's "old" I have a 19 year old truck, and my '05 FLTR has just over 92k on the clock. both run and perform well... and I see no reason to spend $20k on a new bike, when I can rebuild my bike, for a small percentage.
as always
your mileage, may vary
