1969 I got my first bike that kind of looked like a motorcycle. Yamaha 100 twin! Went out on the highway and every biker out there waved. I was confused as hell, why were these guys waving at me? Back then even the club guys waved. Not too many years went by and they got too cool to wave, OK with me! Here we are a bunch of years later and even guys who have owned a bike for 20 minutes are too damn cool, OK with me! Rule of thumb: if a guy doesn't wave there is much higher probability (not a certainty) he's an asshole. Nearly all nice guys wave. Smart guys get the OL to do it for them.

Although I think its cool, people feel a kinship. In all honesty, I don't know you. You don't know me...ok we are both riding motorcycles, cool. Well I have a Penis, does that mean every other dude I see I wave to him because we have wiener in common? No, no it does not. Just saying, I may nod, or even wave, but don't get butt hurt if I dont, because I don't know you and I wouldn't want you thinking because I did wave ,you can come over and bang my sister....just sayin

In the animal kingdom, the dominant male bucks are run out of the family groups by the aggressive actions of the dominant does after only a couple years. They are only tolerated during breeding, and feeding times, usually at night. In their later years they live out a solitary and usually quiet existence with the exception of the "rut". Last night I got a late night phone call from my riding partner Sportster Paul who had also been run out of his family unit after dinner to go for a ride to the local halfway point Tim Hortons. I saw several other solitary greybeard bikers riding aimlessly albeit contentedly and all on Harleys. Any other dominant bucks out there? I "waved" to all of them.
