Bar Snake for sleepy hands
Has anyone used the Bar Snake to cure the sleepy hands? My 99 RK rides like a dream but my hands still go numb. I cant notice any strong vibrations. I saw this thing and did not know if it would work.....
www.barsnake.com
Any other ideas would be tried also....
Barry

Hey Barry, that stuff *works*. I put it in the Sportster I had. Along with IsoGrips there was literally *no* vibration. And that on a Sporty!!
Do yourself a favor and get the liquid variety. I tried pulling the solid kind thru the bars but there was no way I could get it past the dimples for the wiring. I returned that and they sent the liquid. Only hassle is you'll have to remove the bars (I was changing them anyway) or lay your bike on its side. ;-)

I considered it but since I have internal wiring in the handlebars...don't think it a good idea

Snake oil b**shiite
This is f*kkin' ridiculous.
Check your riser bushings for wear, keep them tight and get a set of isogrips.
If you're running internal wiring, putting snake oil in them is not a very wise move unless you anticipate NEVER having to service the wiring run over time.
I've ridden Harley's for over thirty years, and I can honestlty say I have never seen so many snake oil sbulls** junk dealers.
Holy Cripes...

I also have a 99RK and it unfortunately did not come with cruise control. When my throttle hand is getting a bit tired, I simply tighten the little knob under the grip and voila! instant cruise. Great way to give my hand a rest for a bit. This is quite easily done using my thumb.
Of course the throttle is still fully functional and can be put back to normal just as easily.

Get a Throttle rocker, Or in My case an Iso Grip Throttle Boss. You wont regret the 6 dollar investment.

2nd that.
ISO grips with throttle boss and no vibration or fatigue and that's on a DWG.
I have a real hesitation about putting a liquid in handle bars.

I have a 2002 1200c XL lots of vibes... Iinstalled iso grips and throttle boss new polly bushings and one bar snake, put liq soap on the snake and pull on the tail end to make it skinny, while at the same time your stronger bud pulls it into the bars, cut off excess snake flush on both ends and replace hardware, soap will dry and it made a 110% difference....

I bought the liquid, it works. You need to buy the largest one for a set of fatboy bars to completely fill them up. Mine stopped short of the complete fill but it worked anyway.

Don't know if it makes a difference, but the bar snake stuff is a lot thicker and heavier then the silicone. It's worth a try though.
