Is it a sin?

I've been asked by my brother in law, if I want to ride with his Gold Wing club next Saturday. Is this considered acceptable behavior, or is there a code that strictly forbids this?

Tom

They are riding a motorcycle and you will be riding a motorcycle so unless you have a problem with it the Harley gods shouldn't. Be prepared for a little ribbing though.

While I am a new HD owner I would think it wouldn't be any voilation or sin. More so a show of good will and faith to bike riders of other breeds....Metrics. Maybe you can even convert a few along the way and show them the light and brotherly love of a HD owner.

If they give you any crap just tell them you know plenty of HD guys that have Gold Wing covers for their Harley's to keep them from getting stolen when parked at work/store ect

He most likely wont get it but hey, it should be a good ride.

There will only be a problem if you don't show up with a stuffed animal tied to the rack, and dairy queen coupons to hand out.

The world's going to hell and a hand basket and you're worried about what some morons who think HD's are the only bike in the world think? C'mon bro, ride your own ride. If someone doesn't like it, they'll get over it. Like someone already said, they all (most at least) have two wheels, one motor, handlebars, and a seat.

Go, yes by all means go but keep in mind you represent all HD owners to these folks. You have to be a perfect gentleman all day long. Try to speak in full sentences and use proper English. No blipping the throttle. Not too much leather and jewelry. A chain to the wallet is OK but be sure to explain the reason for the chain if you sense any uneasiness. Be sure to shower, brush your teeth & (need I say?) clean underwear too. No fartin or loud belching either!

This is funny.

Since when does the ability to finance a motorcycle made by H-D make you part of a special club..lol...

Gold wing riders are the more likely to be real riders, logging many thousnads of miles each year, unconcerned over their image..lol

Can you 'ride' with them..probably not because

a) you can't ride for 175 miles at a time, fill up and ride for another 175

b) You will be asked to leave because nobody wants to ride behind a 'look at me' performance exhaust .

c) You will suddenly realize that you, not they, are the ultimate poser and go home in shame

can you ride with them? No. They are really riders , who know how to ride and not just put on designer sweats and go for a jog around the park.

You want to see a real motorcycle? Look at a Valkyrie.

Can you ride with them? No stay in your driveway and polish your chrome with your do-rag. leave the roads to real riders...lol

Tom

I have ridden with the local Honda club, no issues to speak of, an I see no need to worry about it, just ride with them, be polite, and most of all, have fun.

Since when does the ability to finance a motorcycle made by H-D make you part of a special club..lol...It doesn't, but it seems you couldn't finance one yourself, so you bought a wannabe Fo-Harley instead. I am not sure if that just screams louder, POSER or LOOSER.

Gold wing riders are the more likely to be real riders, logging many thousands of miles each year, unconcerned over their image..lolThis is quite true, they do put as many miles and Harley riders do, and we all respect them, well the ones that will wave back to us we do. The rest are mostly yuppy Harley hating snobs.

Can you 'ride' with them..probably not because

a) You can't ride for 175 miles at a time, fill up and ride for another 175I do that all the time, most touring rider can as well. But I will say I usually stop at 150, being I have a 5 gallon tank, but 700 - 1000 mile days are no problem at all for me or most tour bike riders.

b) You will be asked to leave because nobody wants to ride behind a 'look at me' performance exhaust .I will agree that there is a difference between performance and Just loud, I have a performance exhaust, and unless I crank it open, it is not too loud at all, I have asked. The only time I have seen someone asked to ride in the back due to there exhaust, it was a VTX rider with strait pipes....damn thing sounded like a tractor with the runs.

c) You will suddenly realize that you, not they, are the ultimate poser and go home in shame. You must have been picked on as a child, that or you have a deep down resentment for those of us who have a Harley, you know, the one that you couldn't finance, that you long for, but just can't get one of your very own. Harley envy....so sad.

Can you ride with them? No.Of course we can, have you been out drinking with Ted Kennedy again? They are really riders , who know how to ride and not just put on designer sweats and go for a jog around the park.Yes Sir, you have been out drinking, that, or your just smoking crack.

You want to see a real motorcycle? Look at a Valkyrie. No thank you, too much plastic and piss poor mileage.

Can you ride with them? No stay in your driveway and polish your chrome with your do-rag. leave the roads to real riders...lolWho like to cruise the Internet with there chip on there shoulder riding there Fo-Harley wannabe bikes, out trying to be a legend in there own mind.

There you go, the post you were fishing for, and I even corrected your spelling and punctuation. I hope it was to your liking, it's all BS but, so was yours.

I would suggest if you want to hang out here, you need too...

1) Remove that chip on your shoulder, we here really do not care if you ride a Honda, Kawasaki or a Harley, it is just that you ride is all we care about.

2) I suggest you spend a bit more time reading some of the posts here, and learn about things before post this ridiculous nonsense, and make yourself look the fool.

3) Before you lash out at someone, realize the mods here will come down on you, and you will be asked to leave, and that would be a shame to loose someone like you without you learning anything.

I suggest you play nice, stick around and who knows, you might just learn something about real Harley riders.
