What?
emirharley:
What are you talking about? You make a statement that the Cross Bones is not reliable from test riding it? That is a really idiotic comment when you think about it. Harley makes different models because everyone has different tastes in bikes. Don't disparage the bike because you don't like it. I happen to think it is one of the coolest damn Harleys to roll out of York in years. Old school Hollister kick ass attitude on that bike. Put a set of shorty duals on it, wrap em with exhaust wrap and put some shorter springs on the solo seat and you have a way cool ride.

That's funny. Me and Foley both have cross bones and his brother bought a new fat bob. I've driven that fat bob and I can't see how you get off thinking a fat bob drives better. It is a smooth ride none the less but certainly not as comfortable to drive. The one thing I did notice is the front end wobble/shimmy during decel which the dealership said was normal. Forward controls, drag bars, etc are never more comfortable than an upright seat, floor boards, and mini apes IMO. If that is how you are used to riding then more power to you.
I think the fat bob is an excellent bike but you are comparing apples to oranges here.
To each their own.

There is NO reason to talk like this. I said that that was MY impression, that must not be an objective opinion, and that is why I asked for other opinions from respected members of this Forum. Of course we need more than just a test ride to get complete "picture". I did not like it, I did not enjoy it, simple as that. Neither my friend. Like FunkyNova66 just said, TO EACH THEIR OWN.
So, related to your comments, leave your IDIOTIC COMMENTS for your people at home, since there is no need to talk/write like this.

just because i'd love to feed the fire...i believe he was commenting on your statement that the crossbones seemed unreliable....how you determined that on a road test without actually experiencing any type of unreliability is questionable....

I own a Fat Bob and I think it's the best damn bike I've ever parked my ass on. I wouldn't trade it for any other! Rides great, screams down the blacktop (thanks to 103 upgrade & Rush slip ons!), and doesn't give me any problems.
My only regret is that winter is approaching...

I just bought a 2008 Dyna fatbob, and love the ride. I don't really care for the "Baggers" and really have no love for the Vrod. I just love the idea that Harley is making a great variety of stiles and selection of bike today!

So, several months ago my friend and myself had an opportunity to test the both rides. So, I rode Fat Bob, he rode Cross bones. During the ride, my friend constantly complained, he did not like the Cross Bones, but I told him "to shut the f*ck up", since I so enjoyed the ride on the Fat Bob. So we "switched" bikes, I got the Cross Bones, he got the Fat Bob.
Unbelievable, I was so surprised, my friend was right, I got an impression the the Cross Bones was so uncomfortable and not very reliable bike, since my friend enjoyed the Fat Bob.
So, my friend's and my conclusion is: Cross Bones - terrible bike, Fat Bob - excellent bike.
What do you think?

Perfect example of "no one bike fits all." Good thing Harley makes different models. Ride/buy what YOU like - not what someone else thinks YOU should like.

Well I don't like either, I rather my Fat Boy... This is a ridiculous thread. People love bikes for different reasoms, and noone is gonna change anyones mind about what they like. I get alot of comments on my 105th anniversary paint, some good, some bad, but they don't change the fact that I love my bike! If you want peoples oppinions, then ask, but the way you said that the Bones was a piece, and Fat Bobs are great, wasn't a tactful way of doing so, and I am sure it offended alot of people. Don't ever cast disparaging remarks towards another mans bike, it's disrespectful, and will get yo' A$$ whooped. No offense

I had the opportunity to ride a Fat Bob. It was a good solid ride. Comfortable enough and handled quite well. I never did have a chance to ride a Cross Bones. I am sure however that it would be a very different ride. It's designed to be. The two main componants of the Fat Bob that I would have to change would be the exhaust and the dual headlight. I would probably ultimately also put a dresser rear fender on it. The Cross Bones like it or not stands on it's own for what it is. It is an old school cool looking bike and I wouldn't expect to take it in it's current configuration Cross Country. I'm sure it could be done however, with a little less time in the saddle between stops.
