Anyone remember Midwest Choppers?

http://www.bnd.com/breaking_news/story/441332.html

PEORIA, Ill. --
A 40-year-old man has been indicted on fraud charges for allegedly swindling customers at his motorcycle shop out of nearly $1 million.

Chip Miyler was indicted on five counts of mail fraud, three counts of wire fraud and one count of bank fraud on Wednesday.

He was the president of Mid-West Choppers in Galesburg from 2001 to 2005.

Authorities say he allegedly took payments for custom-built bikes from 25 customers, but never completed the work.

The U.S. Attorneys Office in Peoria claims Miyler also sold off motorcycles he had used as collateral for a 2005 loan.

He filed for bankruptcy in 2005.

It was not immediately clear if Miyler had an attorney.

Chip Miyler: This Red Rum bike just sold to a dealership in California for $47,000. Our bikes start out at about $25,000, and we've gone up to the mid $60,000 range for certain customers. Our motto is: "You dream it, we build it, you ride it." So we can accommodate anything a client desires. But our average bike rolls out the door at around $33,000. And you'll have a really nice bike at that price."
He's been investigated since 06 http://www.register-mail.com/stories...SAEA.GID.shtml

a total of 41 complaints have been filed against Mid-West Choppers totaling $1.2 million

From what he stated in the first article it would be that the average person put almost 30K without a bike?????
