Wife is Threatening Divorce over Harley

Gonna buy a Sportster XL 1200C and the old lady is raising hell!! I've been hit with threats of divorce, ultimatums, you name it. How in the hell do you calm down your old lady over getting a motorcycle? Money is not the issue. I've tried to compromise by saying I am willing to wait a year to buy. She agreed at first but now is back pedaling. She even gets pissed off when I wear a HD t-shirt. I think it is an emotional thing she can't control. Maybe she needs some Prozac. Perhaps I should buy the Harley and trade the wife for a new model. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Mine was kindda the same way.
SLOWLY she came around.

I think what sealed the deal was the fact I was taking the MSF class...

Good Luck!

So, What's the real reason?

Why does she not want you to have a bike?

We could spend all day here telling you to get the bike and ditch her, but I think it'd be better if you give us a little more insight and see if we can't help you come up with a better solution. If a Harley is the only reason you have for getting the divorce, then you need help.

I say you don't have a hair on your ass unless you just go get it and then deal with it.

Sometimes women like to test you,

If you don't get the bike because she threatened you then she knows next time something comes up she can threaten you again and get her way. Before you know it she is controlling your life, you lose, game over. Once she controls you, then she'll get bored and start cheating on you because women like to be dominated and you just showed you aren't dominate enough to stand up to her so you get placed in the wussy categeory. Either way it's over, unless you can live with her cheating on you the rest of life and being controlled by threats.

Plan B, ask her opinion, then do what you want. She'll get mad, but she'll get over it and respect you when it's all said and done.

Good luck

I can't believe what bad advice these guys are giving you on this.

It is quite clear to me that they know absolutely nothing about women.

DO NOT BUY THE BIKE !

If you do, she will divorce you, and some rotten judge will award YOUR bike to the ex-wife.

What you want to do now is file for divorce in the morning, and when it is all done and finalized, then get the bike.

Buy her something that she wants real badly. Vacation of some sort maybe? Ask her what you can do for her in return.

Me thinks it might be an image thing. (Tshirt was the clue). Perhaps the biker in the house will embarrass her with her peers?

I dang sure wouldn't divorce her over the advice found on internet message boards. LOL

You might have to 'wait it out' untill she has a something that SHE wants real badly.

Then of course there are the ones that believe that you should just buy it then deal with her later. "It's easier to ask forgiveness,... than to ask permission". LOL

Wife is Threatening Divorce .....

Another theory:
Test her, pretend to be okay with divorce. Watch her reaction (and be prepared to back peddle quickly).

Me no likes idle threats. If she throws the "D" word around so quickly now, will she be doing that everytime you want anything?

There's an old saying "easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission." If having the bike is really that important to you then just go buy it. If she divorces you because you bought a motorcycle then she ain't worth having anyway.
