Well, kind of depends on how you set up the bike - seat, bars, pegs/floorboards, etc.

I'm 6'1" or so, with a 32-34" inseam. I currently ride an '06 Road King Custom, and an '05 Fatboy FLSTFAE. I also ride my son's '99 Wideglide on occasion.

The RK has by far the most room. The bike is fitted with mini-apes and a Mustang solo seat, and is clearly best for long rides (well, duh...)

That said, I'm not uncomfortable riding the Fatboy (standard bars turned down slightly, LaPera Deluxe seat) for several hours at a time. I've also ridden my son's bike (factory apes, Mustang Squareback or HD Sundowner seat) 3+ hours, no problem...plenty of room, though the Mustang seems to provide more distance to the pegs.

About the only thing in the HD lineup that I just felt just could not be made to fit were the Buell bikes. However, I might have to change my mind - I recently sat on a new Buell 1125R, which has adjustable brake and shifter pedals - nice. (Note: and has a mere 146HP...)

Hope that helps.

I have 2 sons, 1 6'8" and 1 6'6". The taller one fits on nothing stock. The shorter one could handle my train when it had the stock bars on although he needed the boards I have on it moved futher forward.

I'm 6'6", 36" inseam & ride either a '95 standard bagger or a '99 Train.

On the bagger, I have 2 seats. The stock pillow & a LePera Silhouette. For long hauls, the pillow goes on & other than the vibration coming from the 113", it 's as comfortable as my favorite jeans...
The Train has a Mustang cobra solo seat, 3" extended controls. I changed the drag bars & 6" risers over to some 7.5" rise, 9" pullback fat bars.
Before I switched the seat & bars, I could only ride it for 100 miles before I had to take a break. The seat & bars now allow me to go 200+.

I luv em both, but for overall comfort, give me the bagger...

Good luck!

The term, tall guys is very subjective... everyone taller then me is tall.
I'm 6'5" and had softails and Electra-glides for the last 18 years. They work fine for me especially if you get a Custom seat like a Corbin (I Like Mike) and Apes for the Softails!
FLHTCI works fine too... and you can get Bubby's adjustable floorboards.

But more information is needed... how tall are you? what size shoe do you wear?
My son is 6'7"/8" and a size 16 shoe... he rides a pickup.

A WG with extended controls seems to me to fit best for a tall guy, but there is nothing like a touring bike for long distance. The width of the V twin engine allows for the use of reasonable highway pegs (it is narrower than an opposed or a inline four.) The bars and seat usually need to be changed for comfort.

VTX1800R wants to know Dino or Syn?
Thanks 4 the replies,

I'm 6'2 around 230 lbs, 42 years old. I like the looks of the Dyna Wide Glide, guess I'll go ride one locally. I like how they run the wiring through the bars,
I have to say the harley I like the looks of best is the 100 anniv Springer, that is nice looking, but I don't know how the fit would be for over 6 ft.

I read this is the last year for the Dyna, I wonder if the 105 anniv. edition will be the last wide glide year?

I am seeing some 07 wide glides around 15 k or so, not too bad, maybe I can get lucky with a leftover 07 if the bike works for me.

I traded my big ole VTX for an FJR1300, and I love the bike and it's fast as hell, but I really think I like riding with my feet out in front of me, just more comfortable for me after 20,000 on the VTX.

I don't want to get another Japanese bike, I just want to have a harley.

I'm 6' 6", 36" inseam, 250 lbs. I tried most out before getting my '07 Wide Glide with extended forward controls. By far the most comfortable bike for me.

I'm 6'3" with a 34" inseam. I ride a Heritage Softail. I love it. I would think with tweaking to any ride you could come up with something comfortable. Obviously the touring bikes are made for just that...touring.

6' / 34" inseam: Wide Glide with the stock forward controls is just right for me. I've felt cramped on every other Dyna or Softail I been on.

I am 6'5" with a 34" inseam. I ride a sportster Custom. All of the touring bikes put my knees above the gas tank. The comfort is just fine, but it feels funny with my knees above the gas tank. The Sportster is the only Harley I have ridden that puts my knees below the top of the tank.
