I don't know Doc, but I know Otto. Otto can build an engine, and he can tune it. I started out telling him what I wanted it to feel like. He gave me the specs and I thought it was too aggressive. Finally I thought I should trust the pro. He built it and it feels exactly what I originally asked for. He tuned the heck out of it, heck it wasn't that bad on the first pull, but he got about 10% more out of it to end up at about 107/107 sae 4th gear from a 98 kit and it runs fine on pump gas even out west.

Who is Otto?
He's a guy that has lived and breathed motorcycles his whole life. Been wrenching on them for 25 yrs, started racing them about 12 yrs ago, has been crew chief on a national champion drag bike team and since then has been crew chief and pilot since then, getting a #2 and two #3 national plates and wins in Pro Gas and Pro Modified at various events. He has built several drag bikes from scratch, meaning he fabricated the frames from CrMo tubing and then built everything else. If you search some of my posts, you will see some examples of his work. He has also built a lot of street bikes from bare frames and up. He worked at 2 major H-D dealerships in the Chicago area for around 15 years until he went independent when he became disenchanted with the direction MoCo was taking the dealerships. In his shop he has a pretty good assortment of machining equipment for fabricating whatever is needed and plenty of tools but the best part is between his ears. Innovative and high tech savvy and has a 6th sense about engines. He is a superb tuner but that is just a by-product of his engine building and here his innovation shines through again. He has modified the data gathering on the dyno to watch what the bike is doing dynamically during the dyno pulls. It's more efficient at getting the job done and gets to the optimum tune more quickly.
I have two current threads running that involve Otto. The one is on the current 114" (actually 113.59 cu. in.) engine build and the other is in the Chopper section on the bike build that the motor is going into.
Prolly more than you wanted to know... but now you know who Otto is.
