Yes it does......we now know he put in the time it takes to tune a bike and I'm sure he will have the documents your looking for.

Doc, thanks- just what does the 109 indicate, number of runs he actually did?

Yes it is and depending on the build and experience a tune can take at least 60 runs and as many as 125 runs

Sert Tune
Thanks Doc, I was able to get the run files on disk, gong to send them to the gentleman who tunes bikes for my builder, he is going to see if maybe something was missed or overlooked in the tune.

Doc
What is it that you are fighting that may require 120 runs to get dialed in? That is incredably time consuming. I really think, with some creative engineering, we can get this way down in the required time. Could you email me a data log off a bike that you feel is about 50% tuned and then let me see how close I can guess the final tune. I would need the logs off a o2 equiped bike with the majority of the AFR table set to 14.6
Just run it on the dyno as if you are just calmly driving down the road. Better yet, a data log off a bike driving on the streets.

I don't have any 50% tuned bikes in my portfolio...sorry
I'm not fighting anything except the fact of some pipes, higher compression, larger cam overlaps, and larger throttle bodys take longer to dial in...in other words more edits have to be made in some areas which require making more runs to see the change that was made from the last edit. An inexperienced tuner will make more runs than a seasoned tuner because he is learning the program, simple edit mistakes which requires more edits, etc. I can normally get a tune done now with two edits on each cylinder which amounts to about 60 runs or so to synchronize the VE tables. No battle here just taking the necessary steps to do the job correctly.

Doc and Whittlebeast,
Gentlemen, I have a question. Doc, could you retrieve a data run file that was at or nearly 1/2 complete and allow Whittlebeast show everyone what he comes up with and compare it to your final data run file/tune?

No I can't....every edit I do over writes the previous. The next tune I do I will try to remember to print out a VE table half way through beforeI down load over it.

SERT is a good way to tune your EFI; however, this sucker is $459! The catalog has a Power commander type tuner SCREAMIN’ EAGLE PRO EFI RACE FUELER for $249. Settings can be adjusted w/o a PC connection.

These are 2 entirely different products. The SERT or now Super Tuner allows you to actually tune the engine to run its best. The race fueler is just a crude way to add fuel and does not allow you to tune the engine.

Either one, no preference for us.

Here is a quote from another forum of a product that will be released soon . This may be of help and I am sure Doc can cast some light on this also
"TTS was the original supplier of the SERT to Harley. That contract ended late last year. TTS retained ownership of the SERT code and has been working on an updated version to be released under the product name Mastertune.
This product is supposed to incorporate enhancements and features that TTS wanted to include in the SERT but Harley didn't want. I don't have a detailed list of what these features are but I suspect some of them will be very desirable.
IT also appears there will be an upgrade path for people who have previously purchased H-D SERT's so you can recover some of your investment, unlike the ProSERT that H-D is now selling. I have no information regarding pricing.
They are working out some final bug fixes and expect to have a product available sometime this month (April).
You can track developments on www.mastertune.net. "

Sert
The link above appears to be for a run data recorder ....not a SERT similar device...not saying there's not one but not this exact link...
Great stuff on this thread...my Mikuni is feeling uncomfortable at the moment....
