"What do I know, I ride a Shovel"
Dude, I was REALLY put off when I started looking for a new bike,(I've been riding my Shovel for 25 years..still do)..but saw 96" 6 speeds and said what the heck..ok, no points/carb/kicker...nothing to play with, can't change ANYTHING,you can't work on it yourself (so I was told)..what you get and that's it..But after this EXCELLENT POST..I HAVE HOPE!!!...Now if I can just get a SERT for my '07 Deluxe I CAN AT LEAST DO SOMETHING TO MY BIKE...MAN, wrenching is half the FUN!!!..It's already feeling a little rich...Altho it will be interesting riding around w/ a laptop on the tank tuning!!!
Thank you for an incredible post!
Mike

Springer thanx for the great post/help on SERT and others helping too!
Due to the EPA regs and the new 07 EFI's running lean which SERT version will help eliminate this problem?
I have the SERT for my 02 FLSTFI and now I will need to buy another SERT for my 07 FLHXi.

Actually is there a stock map for the SERT included with the software that takes care of the lean issue with the 07's or what settings need to be adjusted to take care of the issue.

And what map # would that be?
Checking SERT CD ver. H shows no stock 07 maps.

SERT Connection Question
I have a new SERT and had to buy the HD cables. The &*%$##@ cables are 9 pin connections and my (newer) Dell laptop is 15 pin. After numerous trips all over hell's half acre, I got a 9 pin to USB connection which, when added to the existing wiring, will allow me to connect with the computer with one more piece of cable. Any risk in this set-up before I start? Also, in looking at the cable instructions that I bought with the SERT and the SERT Users Manual, it looks like the connector to the ECM goes on the left hand side with the Screaming Eagle logo facing me and up. Seems like the only connection that works is with the ECM cable on the right hand side with the Screaming Eagle logo facing me and up so it is not the same as in the picture. Is this backwards and if so, any risk here? I sure don't want to fry the SERT or the ECM. Thanks for any insight.

15 pin serial connector? You sure about that? On a Dell no less? What model Dell is this, as I deal with Dell laptops of various models and have yet to find one with anything except a 9 pin serial. The video is 15 pin.
