I'll be curious to see how everything goes. I'm planning the exact same build, except I will use stock crank Hobanized. What are tuning it with? Or is it carbed?

not sure but gonna try something.....i've read all the posts about TB size not actin like a carb does....i've also had many a hot street motors in all kinds of things and i remember how a 400hp sbc for the street would run like a dog with a 750 double pumper but put a 600 spreadbore on it and it wakes up.....on my last 98 i had a 55....when i put the stocker back on it came alive...i'm gamblin on the 51 cause i dont run the rpms to the moon, i run it thru the gears at most and short shift by 6k....at the very worst i can have it bored out....i'll let yall know what the dyno says later

Yeah 51mm sounds a bit small for a 117ci build.I would have thought a 55mm or 58mm!!!!!!!

thanks bryan, im still weighing the bigger is better idea myself. cant afford to just buy every size and dyno, cant afford to bullshit a customer just so i can experiment, so, gotta ask questions and observe.
i use the old drag race philosophy-------its just a motor with a hole for air to come in, and another for air to go out. everything else is speculation once you lose the control factor in the experiment.
looking forward to your findings.

I'm wondering about the 51mm myself. I'm trying to find one used, so the first 55mm or 51mm HP Inc I see, I'm buying.

Seems that its best to use a Woods 9b for 117" and a 9F for the 124".

Depends on the bike (light vs heavy), head flow and riding style.
The 107 I am building will use the tw9fg and it will still be strong on the bottom. But my dyna is a light bike and bottom to me is 2500-3500rpm.
...but just in case I have a tw9bg to try as well

Let us know how your dyno numbers look with the 51mm HPI.If i'm not mistaken Woods performance had a 117ci with a 51mm throttle body,on their website dyno area, producing 150hp/144lbs of tq

It's Ed Dahir @ The Dyno Difference, in Richardson.
PM me if you need phone number or email info.
He ROCKs!
BTW Bryan... How 'bout a 63mm TB? I bet that thing won't even idle with a measley 51. WTF were you thinking?
