Couldn't resist ......
Probably should have......looks like you're attacking him for just posting information.

Sorry you feel that way Doc. I do not "defend" any products. I do however post information that I have available to me and that I feel is usefull to the forum.

The forum, IMO, is about sharing information.

BTW, I was not aware the TTS has been available for the last 6 months, I thought it just recently became available to the general public.

Have a great day Doc.

Tried it yet?

Springer,
It doesn't sound as though you have tuned a bike with a Mastertune (new SERT) yet?

Once you experience the great job Steve Cole did with it you will be hard pressed to advise anyone to buy/use the SEST.

While I realize you have had nothing but success with the SEST, there were enough calls and complaints to pull the product off the market until SPX/Kent Moore fixed the issues most were having.

So far, I have had a couple susccessful tunes without the software blowing up. That is 100% better than it was before the $26 update.

Speaking of updates, any idea why the MOCO charges $26 for a "properly" working version of SEST? Most of the major software companies I've dealt with are more than happy to issue "FREE" repaired versions of their software. This is standard practice from my experience and simply the right thing to do.

What happened to that "online update service" for the SEST?
I thought it would be a slam dunk online download to get the updated (properly working for everyone) version of the SEST software.

All I can say is: Try Mastertune, you'll like it!
Bob

You are correct in your assumption that we have not had the chance yet to use the mastertune product.

HD will likely not switch to the TTS product since that is what they moved away from. Why is this important? The purpose of this thread is not to recommend a product but to help people that already have this product or want to understand what this product is about. Since HD sells the SEST, it is more likely that people will have questions about it and how to use it. The customer base of the SEST will be MUCH greater than that of the Mastertune since we all know the HD dealers will push a HD product first and foremost.

Am I to believe that because some tuners don't like the "fisher price" look of the product that we should not allow threads about it? And further more not help the people that are using it? Sorry but that is not what this forum is about otherwise we would have to pick a favorite exhaust and only allow discussion about that exhaust because all the other ones are junk, right? No. As long as I can help people with the information I have available to me, I will continue to do so.

I can not speak for HD but my guess is they felt an online update would not deploy the new version of the SEST sufficiently, again just a guess. Is $26 going to break the bank? In all fairness isn't that the same cost as updating the old SERT when you needed a new version like going from 4.62 to 4.77? So correct me if I am wrong but it was OK for TTS, the previous vendor of the SERT, to sell the updates to correct the problems but now that it isn't TTS's product HD is wrong for doing it that way? BTW, I am not suggesting that TTS had any control over whether or not it was sold but with HD it is business as usual and now you don't have to buy another CD when the only updates are added or changed Maps. I for one think that is an improvement over the old SERT where you had to buy the CD just to get the new Maps.

HD didn't do away with the online updates, the Version 2 SEST updates online as well.

I don't sell either product, we only tune what someone brings to us. We will tune with ANY available product, makes no difference to us. Neither product is a competing product for us. I bet we (the people posting in this thread) can't all say that.

I just recently had a discussion with someone via PM asking me what one I would recommend between the SEST and the TTS. The bottom line is I didn't recommend either one and gave information about both products and let them decide. I even asked them to "second guess" their choice of the SEST based on who and how it was going to be tuned.

Now I'm curious. Anyone got a picture of this SEST unit? So it looks like it was made by Fisher Price?

I'm dying to know the advantage of the TTS. I've posted in 2 or 3 threads trying to figure this out. Nobody can tell me. I've heard mention of the V-Tune feature, but w/o wide band O2 sensors I see little benefit to this. I probably just don't understand. Someone explain the advantages to me.

Springer I know this thread was designed to explain the SEST so you won't hurt my feelings if you delete this.
