I wouldn't having one of these too. The HD kit is too expensive. I wonder if there is some after market alternative.

I just went to Home Depot and bought the key-chain one for $25. I just have to hit the button when I start driving up my street. I alread have the keyfob dangling from my pants so it's easy to get to!

Have you looked at the Flash2Pass system? I have one that I could never get to work with my real old door opened. I tried it on my son's garage it it worked fine with his which is a much newer system.
Here is a like to the company. Flash2Pass
I will sell you mine for $40 including shipping if you are interested.

I use a standard craftsman opener and wired a circuit into the horn button. My craftsman opener has a momentary switch with 4 prongs, I soldered 2 wires to the momentary switch on the opener and ran each of them to the horn circuit, one before and one after the horn button, the horn button completes the circuit when pressed just like pushing the opener button. I then simply tied the craftsman opener inside my speedo housing. When I come home I just honk the horn and the door goes up.

You honk your horn every time to pull in the driveway? Ouch, my neighbors already have to hear my pipes, I'd hate to add to their headaches. I like your idea though.
I have the spare keyfob that I clip onto my throttle cables that works okay, but I would rather have something more hidden like yours.

Don't wire it to the horn, wire it to the High Beam, no noise and door opens when you put the high beam on. I did it several years ago, and it has worked fine ever since....

Are you sharing the odometer switch, or do you have a seperate one for the opener?

Thanks All
  Hi,
Thanks everyone for the info and tips. I went with the flash2pass offered by my fellow brother. I figuered i would spend $40 for a remote and the to wire ect....... I spent the $40 with bob!!!!!
Thanks again and i will post how well the flash2pass works. By the looks of it, i think it will be fine and about a Hundred-Dollard cheaper then the H-D........
Thanks,

Any specific spot? I'd love to do it but don't want to fry my remote or my electrical system
