Thumbs up Trade chrome for not !!

These parts are currently on my 1995 FXD Superglide .What I'm looking to do is trade my chrome parts, for your not chrome ones !! These parts were on the bike when I bought it. They are as follows ,the electronics cover ,coil cover and Kuryakyn Hypercharger model no#401-093 ( J&P Cycles) ,the covers are in excellent condition , the Hypercharger has a minor amount of wear between the butterflies (does not effect operation) ,and a very very small bubble in the chrome on top , the unit looks cool and works great !! Want to trade the breather to something that's not stock, but no chrome , maybe a black Kuryakyn , lets here what you got ! As you have probably figured out I'm not into chrome . When the bike is done (yeah right) it will have the black and orange theme !! Also I'm looking for a set of black pipes for this bike . Would like black ceramics , stock might even be acceptable as long as they look good ! Let me know what you got . And please no Junk stuff (my bike isn't junk, neither are my parts) ,my stuff is as described (picts can be sent ,maybe added later here) Thanks in advance ...cougar...

I heard a lot of guys using spray bomb black krinkle with excellent results. Looks factory. Check out the paint forum if you are interested. Then you wouldn't to mess with shipping.

Painting over chrome is never really recommended...
However, if you can glass blead, than you would have a good substrate - prime then spray wrinkle black.

You can also DA the hell out of it, prime, and spray the wrinkle.

Sure you can spray paint over chrome, but the trick is getting it to stay on! That is why I suggest roughing up and priming for sure!

But, even then...I do not 'professionally' recommend painting over chrome...(Ok so I did it with my horn cover....)

You can get a home powder coating set-up from Eastwood for under $300. That and a cheap kitchen oven, and off you go! That's what I did, and now my bike looks like a stealth bomber!
With chrome, you just clean it (acetone) and shoot/bake. No sanding needed, and it'll last half of forever.

Smile Thanks

Hey guys , thanks for the painting and powder coatings !! I agree with changing the appearance of these items myself , I was only trying to give someone who might need or want these item (with equal trade) a chance to get them. If after a while nothing acceptable is offered then I will do the appropriate changes to these items myself. I already have a blast cabinet and plan on purchasing a powder coat system shortly ,already have the oven also . Just thought I'd offer the chrome to someone first. But thanks for the responces and sugestions !! ...cougar...
