WANTED - quick detach sissy for '96 Road King

hey all,
I'm looking for a quick detach passenger rest that will fit my '96 Road King. I don't need the pad. I am going to cut it up and mate a custom sissy bar to it, so it doesn't have to be in good shape either.

It just has to be able to hook up to my '96 docking station. All I can find on Ebay is '97 and up.

thanx,
Ian

quick detach sissy bar for '96

I went thru the same dilemma when I looked for a quick-deatch sissy bar for my '96 Road King. All I could find were for '97 and newer.

I ended up ordering the HD unit. Price wasn't too bad, and that was with the backrest pad.

I did have to order new docking harware for the rear attachment points. My 1996 already had a quick-detach tour-pack on it, but the docking hardware for it was too far rearward to work with the sissy bar (the front mounts are the same).

Total for sissy bar, backrest pad and docking hardware was under $300. All brand new and all HD pieces.

Later,
BK

oh heck no, I'm not going to pay that much for something I'm going to take the cutter to.

Any idea what the difference is between the up to '96 and '97 and later? The attachment plates look the same, and that's essentially all I need.

I'm hoping to find something used for around $150.
