Your Mileage May Vary…?

Just got 80 miles from a full, topped off tank
Best I've gotten since mods is 130 miles.
Anybody else experience such wide variation in range?

A 50-mile spread is not easy to plan for on long trips up and down the California coast. Granted, the 80-mile tank was done in a bit of a hurry. We were having one of those classic Bay Area foggy, misty days and the machine was making gobs of extra HP. I could easily notice the increase in power. It was just too much too resist and I smoked all my riding buddies to the bar and was on my second by the time they finally dragged their sorry asses in.

Hey Wyo – Is Chevron a Commie oil Co? I thought they were a Middle Eastern Terrorist Organization bent on bringing gas hungry western infidels to their knees

Rob, were you completely empty when you had to refill?

My gas guage has been flaking out recently. It now drops to empty around the 60 - 70 mile marker and stays there until I kill the engine and let the bike sit with the bike still turned on. Shop has ordered me a new one, but that was over 2 months ago and still hasn't come in. I never had this problem during the first 7 - 8 months of owning the bike - it just started happening all of a sudden.

I refilled at 70 miles with the needle buried on E. She took just over 3 gallons so figured I probably had another 10 miles before I was pushing her. Lately, I’ve really noticed what a big difference my wrist can make with this bike. Unlike my Aprilia, I ride my Vrod mostly with my buds on their Harleys. Because this bike is so much more powerful than my bro’s Fatboys, Heritages and RK’s, I spend a great deal of time noodling around waiting for them to catch up. This particular trip I was hell bent to get to the bar before the Raider game started. 70 miles between fill-ups is pretty sucky mileage

I've seen wide swings, 80-140, but it's generally dependent on my uh...er...enthusiasm. I don't like the gauge though....I think its far too conservative.
