Choppersteve...........

The Turbo Tek 2 into 1 pipe you guys are selling, have you done any dyno tests with it? How is the performance and what does it sound like? Is it a high quality pipe, well made? Anybody out there running one, got any comments about it? It looks tuff, should help low mid torque I'm guessing.

Talking 2-1

The Pipe worked great. Very wide power band! We ran equal length velocity stacks and removed the airbox lid, she wants to breath! We also found it wanted to be very rich!? almost 12:1!? I talked with Sam [ pipe developer ] and we are going to offer several options 1] upswept baffle 2] several baffle options[ very loud!] 3] get a heat guard on the rear pipe[ its a cooker] Pipe is well made but is a race pipe, paint is cooking off already. I will try to upload a dyno sheet.

Steve,

What was on the base run bike? What exhaust, or any other mods? Thanks.

That was stock exhaust, but the "title" says custom. Chad entered that to "name the test session" That was the first v-mod muffler tests.

Steve,

I'm like stuck on this pipe and I have a few more questions. You mentioned an upcoming version with an upswept baffle, does the current version drag the baffle when turning/leaning right hard? You also mentioned rear pipe is a cooker, is it uncomfortable or unbearable now? Does its placement coincide with your leg? With the jet hot coated, do the header pipes discolor? does the jet hot burn off? Do you guys have a optimised MAP for the PC3 using this pipe, seeing how you did the dyno pulls? Does the pipe come with all rear mounting hardware/brackets? I'm really interested in this pipe, but I don't want to spend $600 for a pipe thats really uncomfortable, or drags on the corners. Thanks for your time answering my questions.

I have not been over very far on this pipe yet. It was cold when I was driving around and I had the 28t Gear on. Everytime I hit my apex I hit the gas and the rear tire wanted to step out! I will be bringing a black one to Daytona, maye you'll want to check it out! I don't have a map I'm 100% happy with yet [ close ] We were testing with the airbox lid off and I have to get back and develop one for the "V-Mod Lid"[ coming soon] and stock lid. The Rear pipe is not a bother when your riding, its when you stop or get off! If you forget you'll get a good one!
All the brackets are included and the pipe bolts rite up.
We are going to make a raised guard for the rear pipe and develop the different baffles soon.
I can't say on the "Jet coat" yet. Its been my experience that "Jet-Hot" does not Blue or peel. And the pipe cools very fast.
If the heat shields work out we will have a chrome one[ much later] .
That should cover most of your questions, If you have more please ask!
I'm here to Help!

Thanks Steve. What about dragging that low baffle, is it a problem when leaning right? It looks pretty low.......Looking like I may be unable to make Daytona due to work.

ChopperSteve,

Went for a little spin with my new 28 tooth pulley installed, now thats what HD shoulda stuck with as originally planned, or a lower first gear ratio. No heavy slipping of the clutch to get rolling, and bigtime acceleration! You were right, I do love it. I can live with the speedo error and whatever loss in fuel mileage, its a rocket now, hard to keep from running up every damn gear change. Got to have some control here, for the sake of my license and insurance. My new phrase..."my VROD will outrun just about everything out on the road, except some crotch rockets and a gas station!". Steve, you have great service, and time to talk to your customers, thanks.

hi guys!

does the 28t pulley use up much of the belt tension adjustment? i seem to recall hearing that a new belt wasn't required, but it pretty much maxed out the tension adjustment range. thanks

Hello Steve:
You will be at the end of the adjustment. Some need the extenders to get the proper tension, but not all.
