Cam tick when idling on kickstand

1985 FXRP Evo: When the bike is leaning on the kickstand it makes a cam tick. I just did the top-end 500 miles ago. Seems to be the rear cyllinder only. I am positive that tourque specs were followed. Any guesses? Thanks

push tube covers

I'd double check to make sure it's not just a push rod rubbing on the push tube cover. Very common on the front exhaust, due to angle. If being on the kick stand changes the noise, and the bike is topped off with oil and the tappet screen has been checked, you did do that Right?? Then I would guess push rod tube cover rubbing.

Easy stuff first. If that don't do it re-adjust. your adjustable push rods may have an adjusting nut that came loose, or it just did not have the correct amount of time to bleed down while you did the original adjustments.

You can sometimes take a dowel of wood and hold it to the push rod covers for a more accurrate indication as to which one the problem is at.

Last but not least this is the V-rod post last time I looked.
