Screaming Eagle V-Rod upgrades

I want to learn from the experience of others rather than re-inventing the wheel. I'm awaiting delivery on a 2005 Screaming Eagle V-Rod and I'm looking for the best possible combination of exhaust and fuel management systems for increased performance after mapping and dyno. The local dealership recommends I go with the SuperTrapp exhaust and the Power Commander management system, for a potential of 10 horses over the SE V-Rods current horsepower increase. I'm an admitted sceptic, any suggestions or recommendations.

Dude, your getting the SE V Rod. Thats like saying "Im getting a F-1 racer and want it to go faster...". The SE V Rod has most of what you already need. 10 horses over the SE filter, pipes and download is bull. You may find pipes that will give 1-3 horses over the SE pipes, but is it worth it? The only thing you have left to do on that bike is a big-bore (wait, already has that), NOS, or turbo. Although you may want to change out the pipes just for looks. I have the SE 16 ga, and I love the sound and look. I think they are supposed to be a bit better performance than the stock look SEs. But again, its minimal HP gain for the buck.

I guess the CVOs need SE pipes and filter. They dont come stock with the SE pipes because of EPA crap. Thats a "must do" mod. Stock pipes are way too quiet. Thats another $650 plus installation.

The only factory sanctioned upgrade to the VRSCSE is the SE slip fit pipes, SE Air Filter and a download from the HD Race Tuner. I don't believe any of the aftermarket piggyback devices (PC, TFI/DFO/Race Fueler/Gill's) have been certified on the '05's and certainly not on the VRSCSE.

Give it some time or invest in the Race Tuner and lots of Dyno time

HDV or anybody: Does anybody have a pic of SE 16 ga installed on a Vrod? I'm trying to choose between those and Rineharts. Thanks!

Okay, I saw a Vrod with the SE 16 ga's on it.....I like the looks of Reinharts better. More questions: I'm getting a 2005 VRSCSE and and would like to install Reinhart Staggered Pipes (PN: 0405-2005), Screamin Eagle Air Filter and a SERT. I want to tone the Reinharts down a little so I am thinking of installing Reinhart's Stealth Baffles (PN: 7808-3005). Anybody have any experience with this combination? Is there a map published somewhere? Does anybody know how much the stealth baffles will quiet the Reinharts? Any performance issues? Thanks!!

Thanks Andy! I've looked at all the options and still like the Rinehart pipes the best. I'm going to get them and install the stealth baffles. What did you do for mapping? I'm going to go with the SE Race Tuner. Hope I can find someone who is good with a dyno in the Denver area. Thanks again!! George

i have the power commander & downloaded the map for the rinehart pipes with the option of having the screaming eagle map installed. i had the bike dyno'd stock & afterwards & the peak was the same at 106 hp, but picked up 13 hp from 4,000 - 6,000 rpm!
to install the new baffles, you need to get a rubber expandible pipe plug to grab the exisisting baffle & i attached it to a slide hammer & 1 pull it popped right out!
