V-roditis!

Hi guys;
After picking up my 04 Vrod in April I promptly put on it 6000km in 6 weeks. The bottom line is that I know I want more power and "kick".

So, what do I need to do? What options do I have and what package would you recommend?

I am a simple man, so keep it simple.
Thanks.

Thanks Jimmy! Welcome Sapster! On the simple, cheap, easy end... New Pipes ( I went with the Screaming Eagle V-mod's, and a Power Commander.) Many are now going with the Harley Race Tuner instead, but it's more involved than the Power Commander, and you said you wanted to keep it simple!

You can, of course, go for much more power. That starts getting a little more complex and will be quite a bit more $$$. Kaz is the expert in this area! He's gotten amazing HP out of the V-Rod! I'm sure he'll be chiming in any time now!!

The first thing most people do is pipes/aircleaner/flash and maybe topless. Do some homework on pipes, there is a lot to choose from, at different price points. Be educated too on the options for remapping - Race Tuner, PCIIIR, Techclusion etc. Big bore is readily available. Turbo will be soon. Heaps of options! A lot of us tend to be 2 board kinda surfers. Here, because it is a great generalist Harley site with loads of info and great people, and www.v-rodforums.com because it is a a great v-rod specific forum, and pretty cool people as well. Welcome and have fun, lots to learn about your new ride.

Thanks!

Thanks to all of you for the helpful comments.

I cannot wait to put in practice some of these tips. But, regardless, whatever I do, I got to fix that silly gas tank ....having to gas-up every hour or so....it is torture.

Cheers!
