Unhappy My V-Rod is BLEEDING!!!!

Hey, I went out into the garage today to put the new battery tender I got at the bike show last week. I barely moved the bike around, just stood it up once and played with the handle bars to take off the tank cover...

anyway...

The thing started leaking pink fluid all over the place. This is the second time this has happened. The first time, i thought maybe something was overfilled.

Here are pictures of the crime scene...

What is it, and what should I do?

(more pictures on the way)

The only pink fluid I know of is the brake fluid. If it were me, 'd check the brake lines & fittings.

Joker, check cap on coolant overflow behind rt side louvers. It is known to fail. If needed part number for new revised cap is 61813-01. Good luck and keep us posted Pete

HI
Just take a moment with a screw driver and just snug all the coolant lines. Shortly after bringing mine home I experienced the same thing. The hoses expand and contract with heat and then cold the screw clamps cannot keep up with this when the hoses are new. The stupid spring clamps that started many years ago addressed this problem but looked ugly.

Coolant...... I remember when I swapped out the stock hose with a braided one, I couldn't believe how loose the fittings were. Agree with ctvrod --- hose has contracted with the cold.

Bleeding bike

Dont know if your problem is related but. there is a braided oil hose at the front of the bike. that hose on my bike seaped oil and had to be replaced. the dealer informed me that it was a common problem with that hose.

Solved

Just to update, i did go out and check the clamps to all the radiator hoses, and they were as loose as could be.

Thanks for the tip guys.

bleeding vrod

if it looks like anti freeze take the cover off and look at the radiator filler spot. there is a small plastic tube that goes into the overflow tank. possibly you busted the overflow tube off the filler cap.

My V-Rod is BLEEDING!!!!

take the cover over the air cleaner off. you will see the antifreeze filler spot. there is a overflow tube that runs down. I bet you snaped off the hose.
