Beginners questions

Forgive the ignorance, but I've got a couple of questions..

I've got an 03 v-rod with v-mods, se air filter, power commander, and newly installed 28 tooth pulley.

-I've seen alot of talk about "stage 1 flash download".. is this something I need?

-when running topless, how do you eliminate the temperature sensor from being disconnected and causing the engine light to come on?

Menace you need to attach the AIT sensor to the inside of the bottom of the air filter housing with a zip tie or velcro. The update flash should have already been done by your dealer if they installed your pipes and filter but to run topless and the 28 tooth you will need a special flash or you can get the pcrIII or a Race Tuner to handle those items.

Thanks Max. I installed the v-mod pipes, powercommander, and aircleaner myself... I got a map from Steve originally, I think its #20? Then I brought the bike to Harley for the 28 tooth pulley. I dont think they ever did the flash...

If I have the Powercommander, do I need the flash, or just a better map?
