PCIII+ V&H question

I am running V&H Powershots with SE airfilter and PCIII+.

I have the recommended download from Power Commander. I live and ride in San Jose, CR which is about 3300 feet above sea level.

After riding 1500 miles with the new set up and reviewing the dyno maps for the V&H on the V-Mod website, I can really feel the torque dip and some hesitation between 4000 and 6500 RPMs.

Should i make a manual adjustment to the PCIII? If so, what type of adjustment are recommended?

Also, I have seen many posts about running "toppless". How do you do this and is there any danger to the bike if you live in a dusty area?

Thanks in advance for the help!

San Jose dusty... is it really much dryer in the winter than summer¡K anyway.

To run toppless, you have either removed completely, or modified, the black plastic air filter cover.
NOTE--> In either case you should still have the air filter cap in place.

The air filter cap is the thing which is directly above the air filter element and attached by a wing nut.
As long as you keep a solid seal with the wing nut tight, and the air filter cleaned and oiled, you should be fine.
If you are doing trail runs you should clean your filter very often.

BTW, the K&N filter is reusable and allows for cleaning, they were first designed for off road vehicles.

Regarding adjusting your mixture, the best way to go is to get her Dyno tuned... else trial and error.
