Smile V-ROD Big bore kit / Nov. Iron Works

Has anyone seen the article on the V-ROD big bore kit in the November issue of Iron Works. It is by Tilly H.D. and bumps the disp. to 1317cc. The rear wheel HP/torque goes from 106hp / 73 ft lbs. to an immpressive 125.7hp / 93.6 ft lbs. The price is $982.61 for the kit & $1195 for the manditory crankcase machining.
They seem to be running a 12:1 comp. ratio and turning high 9's / low 10's with no further work.
Check it out...anyone of us buy one of the 1st six they claim are out there?

Thats Total Bull $hit on those times. That is on a Full Blown race bike with Air Shifter,Drag suspension,Chain Convertion, and a Pro Driver. The Tilley Bike is way more than just that Kit "Cams, Heads,Works Clutch set up,ect!"Believe I know! With 125rwhp you'll be lucky to run a 10.80 on a Great Track with all the drag stuff!

Now that is not good for the bloodpressure SuperKaz. Everyone that follows these Forums knows that 9's are not 2000.oo dollars away. This is one of those editorial/advertisements that are in magazines. It may be true, but like you said ,there is much more than meets the eye. BobT
P.S. Just kidding on the B.P. !!!

I would have to agree with you Kaz...especially when the artical sidebar claims a run of 10.60 with stock displacement.
Big bore kit & larger throttle boby = 10.01
Reground camshaft = 9.68
And they claim it's getting faster all the time.
Sounds a little too good to be true to me.

Jeez, what's so difficult about a 10sec 1/4 mi.

Most any V-Rod will do it in 9.05sec.

Who can tell me how?

I can prove it, I'll bet you any amount of money you'd like to lose.

Stock V-Rod, low 9s

no crack pipe, no bong, nothing

V-Rod, by itself, 1/4mi-low 9s. Not riding in the back of a prostreet truck.

Anyone want to bet?
I don't want to do it with Flash as it's pretty hard on the motor, but I'll be happy to prove it with any of yours.

Do you need a clue?
