Unplugging the 16GA - help!

I know this has been discussed at the forum previously but still, maybe someone who has unplugged the SE 16 gauge double barrels can help me out here. When I peek into the pipes, I see two issues with the unplugging: (1) the baffles seemed to be screwed on and then it is welded - see picture. Is that the same for you guys in the US? What have you done about it, just turn the weld on and de-welded the screw??? (2) is the plug the about two inch diameter plug that is straight in? In any case, I assume that you have to get out the screw to unplug the plug?

Thanks for any insight!

If you take off the heat shields you can get to the screw to take the baffels out. As far as knocking out the center of the baffel, I have read that is not a good idea because the Vrod need the back pressure. You might check into v-moding your baffels heard that is the way to go, but I havent done it myself so I wouldnt know.

The Vrod will run like crap with the baffles out and no programing. I have the 16 gauge and took the baffles out.-I had NO power past 4500 RPM. I sent them out to get the V-mod and got a the power commander computer. The website is www.v-mod.com check it out Vrodaj is right about taking them out. But if you do, at least get the computer with the correct program. Good luck!

Well the best thing to do is to:
1. Remove the covers as mentioned above.
2. Remove the baffle screws.
3. Remove the baffles.
4. Remove the fiberglass packing carefully and either store it in a plastic bag or throw it away. It makes a real mess if you leave it around.
5. Place one baffleat a time in your shop vice and get a long socket extension and a hammer.
6. Hammer the spot welded plug out of the end of each baffle.
7. Replace the baffles and be sure to use soem ant-seize compound on the baffle screw.
8. You need to either have the HD recommended flash prom done or use a PC IIIr with the correct map.
9. Be sure to use the K&N filter.

I think you wil pleased with the performance and the sound.
