power commander 3r question?

got my power commander 3 for my 2003 v-rod.
just seemed to easy to install and set-up.
followed directions that came with unit, installed unit fairly easily,
downloaded the map i needed for bub pipes, stock ecm,se air filter.
took my laptop out to garage, connected serial cable.
opened up application, chose to load new map i downloaded earlier for bubs with se a/f and stock ecm #m809-009 from dynojet site.
hit upload and programmed the power commander and verified upload choosing get current map info button and showed same # above.
now my question about the 3 buttons,do i need to play with them to adjust anything further?
i tried to adjust them but nothing would happen,is this because i loaded a preconfigured remap #m809-009.?
does this remap i loaded cover all rpm ranges?or do i load this map to all 3 rpm ranges low, mid, high?
if so then how do i accomplish this?

one thing i can say the map and the power commander made a noticeable differance for sure, took it for a quick ride, sounds better, idles better, accel is better also cruise speed seems better.
so it did do something for sure.just want it to be right.
anyones input would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

as far as i know, the three buttons are for adjustments in case you do not have the use of a laptop.

VRSCA,

Like creosote stated, the 3 buttons are a rough adjustment if you do not have acess to a pc, or specific maps. If your using a custom map or use a pc to modify map, you don't do anything with the 3 buttons period. With your pc and the PC3 software, you have much much more control and tuning than the 3 dinky buttons. Pull up a map and you can adjust fuel mixture in 500 rpm blocks, from idle to max rpm, and also based on throttle position. You can also adjust ignition timing too, but base map settings work best, leave this alone unless you got a dyno in your garage. The PC3 software is great, easy to use. You got more tuneability there than most of us need.

I just bought a PC3 for my rod. Which is better.:Install myself and tune it with my lap top, or take it to an HD PC3 certified technition with a dyno? I am looking for the best results from the PC3.

Thanks,

i do not doubt that a pro could probably tune it in better then a novice like my self.
but it will cost you some bucks that's for sure.
but at the power commander site they have alot of different maps available that are downloadable for different exhaust and air filter and ecm configurations.
pick your set-up from there and you can load your powercommander your self and save.
but like i said it is entirely up to you and your budget allowance.
my bike runs well with the map i loaded.
i have bubs and s/e air filter and stock ecm.
plus my wife is starting to get pissed about the money being spent on a already costly bike.
hope this helps.
