I wish they would, but the MO CO seems to be too smug and hidebound.
There is a market for sporting bikes that are unique, meaning non Japanese.
Witness Triumph's sucess in spite of limited dealership coverage. Myself and others I know would consider getting a Triumph if they had a better dealer network with access to parts and service.
Harley has the dealerships, the basic engine, and the potential customer base. They just don't have the balls to think outside of their comfortable little box.

....I don't know, they couldn't ignore what Eric Buell started in 1983, although they didn't make a move 'til around 1990-91 before doing a complete buy-out in '02 or '03. If the motor press get a chance to test this thing and gives it a thumbs up, then all bets are off, you can bet the MOCO is watching (been watching) even as we type this.

quite an interesting use of the VROD engine.

Springer,
that is a cool bike. I am sure that the Ducati and expensive sportbike crowd are watching.
I have another thought. Do you know of anyone that has tried to make this Rev engine into a torque monster? I would be interested to find out if this engine has any promise for the touring crowd. What can be done to add cubes? Does it show any promise of powering a 900lb loaded touring bike and making more power than a 103 or a 113 or ???

people are increasing the revo engine to well over 1500cc's reliably now and are making 150-160hp at the wheel and over 100ft-lbs of torque. my stock revo makes nearly 80ft-lbs of torque, so i find the no torque comment i hear somewhat comical. sure, you've gotta rev it a little more but is it really THAT hard to slip the clutch a little?
there is no doubt the moco could make tweaks to make it a more "touring bike" friendly engine that would be better suited for long distance riding. most likely better than the current air-cooled motors as they would have the horsepower up top to really move after you get the road sofa's off the line...this is just my honest opinion...

Very cool bike but they are way out of line on the price, $39,995? I could fill my garage with a couple *** sportbikes and a Ducati for that price. Maybe someone can convince Buell to put the VRod engine in a Lightning or a Firebolt and make the msrp a lot more reasonable than $39,995.
