I would like to know the combustion chamber volume and the individual pushrod lengths of a stock 91 Evo engine. I called H-D, In Milwaukee, this morning and asked them and was told "that is proprietary information and we don't give that out to the customer. I can tell you that your engine is 1340ccs."

maybe because they don't know the answer. pushrod lenghts are listed in the early service manuals the heads varied over the course of production otherwise how would the early releases by 9.5:1 or more and he later stuff being lucky to be 8.25:1

I looked in my 3 service manuals 91, 93, 96 and no luck. Found the lengths in my 91 parts book.

I bought a set of used Evo heads that have been ported. The guy I got them from didn't know who ported them. I cced the heads and they were both 87ccs. Had a 3 angle valve job done and had them shaved .085 and I am now at 73.5ccs.

Guess H-D must have changed the chamber volume a few times. I have got answers from 78 to 85 ccs.

Thanks Randy. I asked the same question on another forum and got answers from 78 to 85 ccs. I have been saving up for a big S&S or Ultima motor for my 91 FXRT. Saw a set of ported Evo heads listed for $70, shipping included and couldn't resist. They cced out at 87 each. I thought that having .085 shaved off them would get me down a little farther than 73.5 ccs. Wanted them at 72. Back to the lathe.

Pushrod length

So what is the stock length? I can find the length listed anywhere. I bought
a project engine with the rods not installed. I put the two long ones that
I got with the engine in the exhaust. The rear cylinder exhaust valve won't
completely close. The front cylinder is fine. I can't figure it out??

The stock pushrod lengths are.

rear ex. 11.210"
rear int. 11.045"
front ex. 11.325"
frt int. 11.090"

I needed shorter pushrods after I had my heads shaved and didn't want to use the Screaming Eagle ones that I had as they are heavy. I ordered 4 solid pushrods from Smith Bros. They cut them to my specs and the price for the 4, with shipping, was about $52 IIRC.
