06 Heads on an 04?
Simple question really, will 06 heads fit an 04? Found some pulled heads on eBay for a low price, but not going to bid if they won't fit...(these will be sent to a porter, so the stock flow characteristcs aren't really an issue, but additional info is always welcomed!)
Speaking of flow...is there a "sweet spot" year for TC heads?

not sure about the intake, but you will need 06 style flanges for sure. the bolt patter is different. and yes, the 06 heads flow slightly better, and DO make a little more power on the dyno, iven on a stock stage-1'd bike. Im doing this mod over the winter on my 03 FXD, with HQ cams. porting isnt in the budget this year.....

Are you refering to intake flanges, or exhaust flanges? (Or both?)
Sounds easy enough to change out then...

Make sure that you get the 06 heads, easily identifiable by the symetrical bolt pattern of the intake flange. Found this over at the HTT from a 07 bike.

Call Steve at Gmr. I beleive he is still selling the intake flange you need. CNC cut i think.

ok, so to be clear, to use 06 heads, i'd need to get some flanges from GMR, and the 06 heads will work fine on an 04 (after being worked over of course)

Naw, my bike is still 8.9:1, with SE pipes and SE211 cams...
The greatest complement I ever got...someone walked up to me at the base gym and said "your bike sounds just like the intro to Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher"...I grinned for days...

Here is a thread to help identify the heads. http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=75002
The symetric bolt patern is correct but it is hard to ask that question of someone selling them on eBay. It is easier to ask them to send you all the numbers on top of the heads and then you can figure it out.
The stock 06 and up intake flanges from Harley are all that is needed. They are less than $8 for the pair.
