I'm "baffled"
See my sig below for my build. I am going for SERT Dyno tune next week and I currently have the V&H Quiet Baffles in my 16 Gauge Harley exhaust.
Anyone know if it would be best to keep those baffles in, alter them, use my original 16 Gauge baffles, or alter the original 16 Gauge baffles.
Thanks.

Well each and every tune is different. When on the dyno you would be looking for a dip in power ( tq/hp) once you have the afr completely tuned. You then could try swapping in another set of baffles. Or removoing the packing, or altering the legnth of the baffle. Other mods will effect the tune as well. Most time the engine is not really mod'ed and the pipe is a decent pipe the curve will be ok. Certain pipes cause certain things to happen. The 16ga pipes are ok and do not really have any really bad habits.
Good luck on the tune. Make sure you get a dyno sheet with a AFR curve on it.

Thanks. I will get a sheet for before & after and ask for the AFR curve data also.
Hope it runs well, although I will have to keep an eye out for George with that new 98".

I would suggest having it dynoed with the baffles you intend to keep.
When my bike was stage 1, with cam, it would run about the same with
stock or quiet baffles in big shot stagards.
When I went to 95", headwork, etc. (over 100/100) I had it dynoed with the
stock V/H baffles. Switched to the quiets and ran ok but you could tell it
wasn't quite right. Went back to stock baffles.
Now have Propipe.

the bike rides smooth took her up to 60 mph yesterday very smooth i did not go over 60 as with the 337 gearing i did not want to tach out to high.
100 mi on her now and i will tell ya it revs real quick much quicker then the old set up..... louder also but you can really hear the cam.
you can cruise around in 4or 5th gear with out even lugging the engine.
but she wants to go
DC im pretty much set on R&R doing the dyno i have to much of WRENCHS time and my MONEY to let some one else touch her with a tune.

Hey George, glad you're back on the road & running right.
I have 1,000 miles on engine and it runs very good, but just too lean with the dealer download.
Going to at least try the local dealer in Lakewood to get the SERT tune, it should be much better than now and I can always ride up to R&R if I don't like it. I have had a few people tell me that Chip there does a real good job.
At least I will have a good starting point, a dyno printout, and can go from there.
