Question for those in the know.

The last few times I have removed my air cleaner and breather bolts I have noticed the front breather bolt wet with oil (real wet) while the rear breather bolt is completely dry. I do not vent to the carb. I run a braided line straignt down to the ground. I do not have any oil drips on the floor when the bike sits over night.

I was planning on changing over to the newer umbrella valves this winter. Not sure if they woud help this.

May be nothing, just thought I would ask and get an opinion.

Are you running one of those metal loops between the banjo's or individual lines? The loop goes over the top of the carb with a hose bib below the rear banjo. Any oil passed by the front cylinders umbrella valve has to push it's way over the top of the carb or injector body. The rear banjo just drops it straight down the hose.

That is the low point where the oil sits and the vapors go up thru the tube. The collected oil is sitting there with chromed washers for sealing...its going to weep some. I spray it and wipe it off. If you install the "bango fittings" {loose the tube}, the oil will go where gravity allows it to, which is what its doing now...

Many time the leak is from the oil following the threads of the bolts out that being the reason to use loctite as it seals as well retains thebolt from coming loose.
