SE 251 cams

Has anyone tried the SE 251 cams? I'm thinking of them for my 03 Softail that has HTCC heads and pistons 95 inch BB Kit 204 cams and power commander. I can't find anything on the rpm range of the 251s any help would be great

I'm running 95", SE CNC ported heads, HC pistons and Race Tuner. I wanted a cam that kicked my torque up quickly and held it through my usual riding range (~2500 - 3500 RPM). The 251 was recommended and I love it!!!

The dyno chart shoots up to ~92 ft lbs right off idle, peaks at ~100 and doesn't drop until after 3500.

What I'm also finding that after my torque has kicked me into 'go mode' I hit a real powerband around 3000 rpm. She just takes off and feels like I'm flyin'

I love the set up. Just wondering why we don't hear much about the 251's????

I have a 03 RKC that I just bumped up to a 103, HTCC heads, SE exhaust and a 251 cam. The performance is great and as Speedie indicated the run up after 3000 rpm is quite impressive. The only thing I am somewhat displeased about is that at lower rpms there is a stutter. I am not sure if its the cam or I have some fine tunning to do.

Speedi,
Post your dyno sheet or let us know peak power and torque, and at what rpm each peak at.It's hard to make decent torque with those heads on a 95" motor. The 251 cams should help.

I have no affiliation with any company to do with motorcycles but please have a look at the Woods Carbs website - www.woodcarbs.com - Your heads are setup for very high lift cams (.650 lift) and you can get much higher HP and torque for the same price.

I agree with johnsachs, the ports on those heads are HUGE. Not sure what cam would be the best but I would try something with high lift and short duration .600 + lift and 238 - 244 duration. Those heads are going to be sensitive with exhaust,so you will need to try different ones. Every motor is different but some are more fogiving to exhaust !
