Who says corrected geometry is for the birds?

I was told this once... After further inspection of my teardown, this is what I found on my rear cyl. exhaust push rod.

Finally no more chasing my rear cyl. exhaust valve tick! YIKES!!!

So my question is how do I prevent this with my new set-up with bigger lift and longer pushers?

1) Billet support plates?
2) Baisley corrected rockers/ adjusted valve length?
3) Having custom tapered push rods made?
4) Other options?

When you assemble the top end there is usually enough play in the rocker arm supports that you can get the pushrods centered. Most guys never check - just bolt it down. If it needs relocating then something like the Woods offset supports would do it.

I never knew to check the rocker arm support location until I was shown...that and Smith Bros. pushrods.

Also helps to drill the inner tube at the top flange to 5/8" ID

I am a proponent of corrected geometry but that is not what is needed just to fix the issue. After doing the complete correction procedure and the lower boxes are centered the pushrod will move in an even arc being centered in the tube at mid lift.

as this top end was professionally installed, and I still had an issue, is it a safe move to go for the Woods supports then work on centering the rod with it? Hopefully that will work on a B2 headed set-up...

The answer to your questions come from boring the tube out, assembling properly centered and observing the motor from the top looking for rubbing, no new parts needed unless the clearance can't be obtained.
