SE 103 Stage 2 Kit - What Cams?

Can anyone tell me which cams come in the Screamin Eagle 103 Stage 2 kit. I've seen some stage 1 kits on Ebay for half the price that the Dealers get but no Stage 2 kits so I'm thinking of buying the cams separately

It comes with a 255 cam, it's good down low and mid range but falls off a little on top. Still much better than "stock" ! It's according to what your riding style is, there are many options.

I know in the 95 builds they use the 203 which I think is a better cam than the 255. Im sure they could use it in a 103 . But theres way better after market cams out there.

Another cam worth checking out is the S&S 583 with EZ Start. Eliminates the need for compression releases and has great low end and midrange power.

If you're looking to stay with the Harley parts, it's a good kit depending on your riding style.

You might want to read the report on mine in my signature line below.

255 cams

255 cams is the choice by Harley...I have them on my 103" when i upgraded from 96".....big difference with the cams. i have manual compression releases....tried to get by without them....ruined a starter...so if you install this cam be ready to at least have manual releases unless your 103" has automatic releases...

Have 27k 0n 10 Heritage with the stage II 255's very pleased with results. Currently pulling 600# trailer for PGR R/C duties. Only thing I would do differently is use MCR or ACR, they were not recommended to me at the time! Only electrical issues replaced battery at just under 3 years. Starter still OK!

That's a good idea.
Better yet , just buy the pistons. Bore your cylinders.
And use a Andrews 57. Wood 5-6 cycle rama 575 SE 204.
Unless you plan on pulling a 600 lb trailer also.

87 hp, 105tq hits 100ft 2300rpm, doesn't drop below 100ft lb till 4350. I ride 2 up everywhere and together we come in about 480lb. Love how it runs and the few times I'm by myself its even more fun. But the thing about the releases is dead on. Got talked out of them when the engine was down and that was a bad call. Too high ccp for no releases. Tears up starter clutch drives. My mileage averages about 40 mpg and I like to get on it pretty often. When I did the stage 2 (Oct 2010) there were not the options available that there is now. I would not go this route now, knowing what I know now, but that does not detract from the fact the bike runs strong enough for what I do. You maybe asking what I'd do now? Here it is...http://www.head-quarters.com/html/new_products.html. Bang for the buck I'd don't see how it can be beat IMHO.
