120r?

Why dosent the 120r (#19289-12) have comp. releases? not needed for a carbed motor?, but the instructions say "Installation of comp releases is required". Can somewon with a carbed 120r chime in and educate me. Also, anyone using a Mikuni 45 on one?

The carbed bike has no wiring for it, they still can be wired easy enough

Thanks Don, if you could explain how to wire them up or draw a schematic, I could handle it. Im just putting a "plan" together at the moment, nothing has been ordered yet!

Most people wire them into the starter system. When you hit the start button they open and when you let off they close.

Hold On, Do NOT HOOK them up to the GREEN WIRE going to the starter solenoid. You might create a voltage drop low enuf that will cause the starter solenoid to not push in all the way. I have another way all written out with a schematic on another thread. Hold on and I will post it here.

P.S. I do know that most people hook them up to the green wire with no problems, but I had problems with mine when it was wired to the green wire. This was the way that I was told by two starter manufactures Spike and All Balls

ya, got a 4 wire starter relay and pig tailed relay receptacle. pretty easy to install, even the MoCo suggest that you do it that way but not absolutely necessary for the stock loose starter solenoids, where I have an after market sucky Spike starter I had to do it

Go to any forum and you can read for days about Harley top end noise. I found the cheapest fix is running straight 50 weight non synthetic oil, or Redline 20-60 synthetic, and turn up your radio. A loud exhaust helps also.

If that doesn't help you can change out your lifters to a good quality aftermarket, and get adjustable pushrods.

The more you think about your engine noise, the louder it gets.

Correct the geometry, change the valve springs and change the lifters plus use a more rigid pushrod
And to add a little more assurance use a camshaft with less aggressive lobes
