Wondering if anyone has used a set of these heads yet? And if anyone has CC them?
These are the new heads from the 2012 catalog. With the A suffix
Can’t find a lot about them on the internet!

I think you would be better off having your heads gone over by a professional porter. The guy I work with (Dave Mackie Eng) can install 1.9 intake black diamond valve and 1.6 exhaust Including complete porting and polishing and set your valve springs for any lift you want up to the same .660 lift. for less than $999.95 There are many others that can do the port work for less. It looks to me that the heads you are looking at are a completed set of exchange heads that you would buy outright instead of sending your heads in for factory porting. There are a LOT of head porters out there that can do a better job on your stock heads than HD can. You alredy have Big Boyz head work, All you need is to open up your valves to 1.9 and 1.6 and your good to go.

Ever since I had new valve guides installed in my heads that Big Boyz ported for me something been off with them. I tuned it with the mastertune then I preformed several
Data runs. In each run the spark is being retarded up to 8* in both cylinders and yes I have retarded the timing in the spark tables with no improvement. Also there is no pinging audible and I know what pinging sounds like. So I’m won’t be dumping more money in these heads.

I think the "8.8:1" is your culprit. If that is what youre saying your compresion is. What are you heads? They really need opened up to 1.9 and 1.6, ported and milled to increase your compression to at least 9.5:1 for you to notice your cams. What is going on that you think the heads are to blame?

The 8.8:1 compression is corrected compression mechanical is 9.54:1 according to Big Boyz calculator.

I'm sure you've already checked this but before you spend a lot of money make sure your spark plugs are not the culprit.

Last year on a completely stock bike I was Vtuning with TTS and was getting spark pulled at 8 degrees on both cylinders. IT was almost constant. It turned out to be the new NGK spark plugs I had used. When I put the stockers back in the spark retard disappeared.

This year with a cam change, data run was showing max spark retard. I removed the plugs and regapped them to exactly 0.40 and spark retard disappeared.

If I were you I would make sure spark gap is correct and if it is, and you are not using stock HD plugs, give them a shot first. Only cost you either $0 or $6.

Tell you what..I have a set of stock heads that you can start over with if you feel that strongly about it
. I will trade you straght accross and pay for shipping. I am willing to do this because I am 99% sure that your head are good. What needs to happin to your heads is #1 The valves need to be opened up as I stated before. #2 your corected compression needs to be broght up from 8.8:1 to 9.2:1 (california crap gas) or possiblly a little higher if you have 93 octane. I've already pulled the heads and you may be right it might not be the heads but something is causing abnormal combustion. As far as the HD factory ported heads I've already ordered them and they should be here Tuesday. Found a set for 820.00

Can you let us know how these heads work out? I am thinking of ordering a set for my 2010 RKC (PCV, Power Duels, monster ovals and an HQ 525 cam) and going from 96 to 103. I live in Thailand so getting the heads ported isnt an option. As you know there is very little info on these heads out there so anything you can give me would be great.

The se cnc heads come in at 85-86 cc
I have probably tuned more BB heads than any other.
you have other problems with your tune.. not your heads.
closed loop v tune, Sparkplugs,acell enrichment. Several things it can be.
I have seen some pretty "dirty"heads but none that couldn't be tuned.
don't belive everything you read on the internet.

they work as well as most street ported heads. they do leave a bit on the table compared to some race port jobs. they are a good way to buy and bolt on with no downtime. now on the flow bench they lack a bit of airflow over a couple other popular porters heads. I wont tell you whats better for you or if your heads are the problem from behind a keyboard that is foolish.
