TR-625 At 10.75:1

Contemplating installing the T-Man TR-625 in my 107 but my compression is already at 10.75:1. I realize the TR-590 bleeds off some, but I don't want to risk losing bottom end torque. Change in compression is not a consideration at this point.

Current cam is the Wood TW-555 and naturally, the cranking compression is pretty high at 218 PSI. The TR-625 has slightly longer duration so I would think that compression would be reduced a small amount.

I like the bottom end performance with the 555 but I know the heads are capable of more and would like the bike to pull out further in the RPM band, but hopefully not give it up down low. Heads are ported with 1.94 intakes and flow pretty well.

Anyone running this cam with about this compression?

I dont think the 590 would lose much tq over the 555, but you can play with a 4 degree advance for a small tuning change. I think changing from the woods to either tman cam will net you only a marginal benefit.

The change in CCP between the Tman 625 and the Woods 555 is negligible, may not be worth the time and effort. I'd give Tman a call, I'll bet he steers you towards the 590.

Indeed, he did. I would likely be softer on the bottom end though. I'm tempted to try the 625 and see what happens, I guess. There's only one way to know for sure.

Did you go to tmans website and check out the dyno sheets? I dont think you will be disapointed in either choice.
