113/Bob Wood Cam Combo
Everyone:
I have been building EVO's for years with Bob Wood cams and have created some great motors. Now that i am in the twin cam world i was wondering if anyone has built a HD 113 stage 4 but used a Bob Wood cam, and if so, what number of cam and what hp/tq numbers did you get?. I'm looking for numbers in the 120hp 130tq range with 100tq in by 2,000rpm.
Thanks for the help!

Yes. Look thru the dyno section. Use the "search" function.

a lot depends on compression and other parts.
two choices would be
tw408
tw9b
the 408 will be tq biased like you want and will power further down low.

I went T-Man TR625C with my 113, which is theoretically the "quiet" valvetrain version of Woods 400-6.
Will post results when engine is finished.
There are a lot of good people on this site that have done 113's with TW cams, so do some research and study what type of bike (FX, FL) they applied their build on to help make your decision.

yes the tw8 cam is great but will not give the tq bias with early tq that he wants. the tw8 is an equal hp/tq cam if everything is right.
but yes the tw8 is definitely in the conversation.

I used the T-Man 590G in my 113". There's a 113" on another popular site that's running with the TW8, and I believe his is making like 127/130 (ish).

I am running the Woods 400 cams in my 117. 120hp/130tq and the torque comes on just above idle. Great bagger set up IMO. Valve train is noisy but sounds like the new Woods lifters can help with that issue. I am certain you will have a great motor with this research you are doing.

Have done just that with a Wood 8 and 1.94 intake and 1.57 ex. 7mm valves + beehives. 10.4/1. Bike now has 28k on the build.
