Hargood wants to know Dino or Syn?
Screamin Eagle heavy breather air filter

Hi Guys, anybody know why this air filter will only fit 08 96 twin cam engines. I have an 07 FXDC and local Harley dealer reckons it will not fit. Any advice much appreciated.

this is taken straight from the SE catalog.

Fits ’08-later Dyna® and Softail® models. Street legal when
used with Original Equipment throttle body. Also fits ’99-’07
Dyna, ’00-’07 Softail and ’99-’07 Touring models (except
’99-’01 EFI Touring), and models equipped with 50mm
Throttle Body P/N 27623-05 (race application only). Does
not fit models equipped with fairing lower glove boxes.*

according to that it would fit, if you have the 50mm throttle body. im sure someone here might have more insight as to if it can be made to fit, but thats how HD lists it in the catalog.

That sounds like a very feasible reason. Thanks

The part number you want for your 07 Dyna is 29299-08 for chrome or 29098-09 for black. It'll fit like a million bucks. Install is cake.

Se Heavy Breather

It will fit all the above in the second reply to this tread. I just installed one on a 2005 injected softail nightrain. Very nice setup.

Yes. If you'll re-read your post below it says "Also fits ’99-’07
Dyna". I got the same one on my 04 Heritage Softail. And I love it.

Meaning what? Will it feed a 100hp 95" or will it choke it off? I kind of like the black version and it looks like it would clear my knee better...

Maybe it might cost you a couple of ponies on some 131" Dyno Queen. But in the real world, you're not gonna notice. For looks alone, it's worth it. And the knee clearance you mention is wonderful.

Smile

Thank you to all you guys that have replied to my thread. Have spoken to local H-D service manager today and he confirms what you have already told me so I can now go ahead and install the filter. Whoopee.
