2010 SuperTrapp SE Slip-On Mufflers
Hi gents,
I have these on my 2010 103" Stage II Road King Classic. I *hate* the sound.
It's not deep, throaty, meaty, greasy, or fat sounding. It makes a "whoosh whoosh whoosh" like the jetson's car.
I recently drilled out my catalytic converter (well, drilled a hole through part of it) and am still unhappy.
The baffles in the 2010, as distinct from the 1995-2009 version, have NO chambers. They are a straight shot. You can see all the way through. These are not restrictive baffles. The Kerker Mikuni baffles (I don't want to throw $220 at this for the pair just to make the hole deeper) are similar, but shorter. SuperTrapp said if I got those, I would have to get a tune / tuner to cope with the heat.
What else can I do? Can I alter the welded-shut baffle cartridge? Would drilling a few holes help the sound? Running without baffles is so loud it makes my jaw hurt ( and shakes the house, sets off car alarms down the street, etc).
I don't need more noise, I need better sound. Help?
