Woods Roller Link Conversion Kit/TW-408-6 R Cam
Is anyone out there running this combo in their scooters?
Have 30k on an '06 95" engine and haven't checked camchain tensioners yet.
Thinking of switching to hydraulic tensioners with a different cam/head/piston setup.
It would be of interest to me to find out how well this setup works and how quiet running it would be.
Thanks In Advance

We installed a bunch of TW-408-6 cam's in T/C's from 110 to 116 cuin motors everyone loved the performance of that cam. It might be a bit much lift in a 95 cuin motor as for noise a stock 110CVO with its 255's makes more noise than any TW-408-6 cam's we installed. Take a look at the TW-5-6 and TW-8-6 cam's for a 95 cuin motor lots of Dyno print outs to view on Wood's web page. You got the wright cam manufacturer just a matter of what cam to choose. Power up !!

yep rosa, not to mention the additional costs to set up. imagine getting that little motor to make enogh compression, and hanging a .650 lift cam in there.

Forgot to mention this is what Bob Woods decided as part of my build with Wesco pistons and HTCC CNC heads @ 10.5:1 redone by Wolfgang Grasser.
Also would like to know how the roller tensioner setup works from actual users.

The heads and barrels done by Wolfgang along with pistons.
Camshaft & Roller Link Conversion recommended by Woods.
Supposed to be reliable too.

rosa cycle:
I have an SE251 presently but isn't the TW-8-6 cam close to the 251?
I was hoping to go with more cam after having the heads reworked.

Sounds like after speaking with Wolfgang and Bob Wood, your mind is made up. Run with it.

the 408 cam was really developed as an evolution of the 400 cam specifically for the cnc htcc heads which needed more duration to make good peak power. perfect cam for a 95" htcc cnc head. yes it will be a high hp build and yes it will haul ass with wolfgangs heads.
make sure ccp is 195psi + and know this is a build that will produce righteous power from 4,000-7,000 rpm.

Nothing written stone yet but I would tend to believe these guys wouldn't lead me down the wrong path.
After a 3,100 mile ride out east the engine turned into a ping monster and burned more oil than desired.
With tensioner maintenance inevitable I believe that I could
make some improvements without breaking the bank.
I'm close to 100/100 now.
Was told 115+ hp and torque possible with this build including a larger HPI throttle body.
Any camshaft upgrade experience using the Woods tensioner would be appreciated.

The 6, 6H, 7H, 400, and 408, are cut off the same centerline, and they ALL work well, when set-up correctly.
Have used his cams since the mid-90's.
The 408 is a good choice.

96HOGTake a look at the bike on the cover of my web site its 95cuin 2001 Fxdwg stock heads reworked. TW-5-G cam's S&S -G No roller rockers! 10 to 1 pistons, and thats 2sd gear he's lifting the wheel. This is what we call HI Lift my opinion street motors at 95 cuin run great with 600lift or less . Not many have pasted him on the street Happy wheelies!!

not doubting power output, i bet it will be wild! i was just asking about application on a bagger. if its a bar hop bagger, then you oughta have a blast with it. if you use the bagger as it was designed, that build may qualify as overkill.
thats all.

Yeh it's a bagger...a daily rider which also has been rode in the Sierras & Appalachians.
Just got back from Shenandoah Valley/Blue Ridge.
I like to twist the throttlle when I ride.
Raced motorcycles for quite a few years so using a transmission isn't a problem.
Present build comes on at 3k and runs to over 6k.
Normally shift the ol' girl between 5-5.5k rpm.
Don't really bar hop but really enjoy twisting one off with riders that do pull out from bars...
