the 583 cam has a 15 intake close... and we thought the SE255's 25 IC was early...
and the duration is 204/262... now THAT'S a big split...

Probably they want to dump the heat with that exhaust duration.

The cranking test was kinda cool, suprized the stater didnt fry...
Would like to see it done with a 124 motor and 11.5 to 1 compression though.
Anyone know what a CCP test shows on these? Also, how would you test it?

What, nobody at S&S ever heard of compression releases?
Last thing I want is some gizmo flopping around on my cam shafts.
I'll take a pass on this.

Ive actually seen these cams in person at last years Vtwin Expo and have heard a buddy of mine's 117 Xwedge start with them, it basically cranks like the plugs are out, good question though on the ccp, I guess if you have your numbers and measurements right upon initial assembly you should know what you have. Could make troubleshooting a bit difficult though.

Bob
when I looked at these cams when they hit the market the specs were at .023 instead of .053 lift.
now I cant even find those spec's
so question is.....are the specs for the 585 easy start the same as the 585G ?

looks like the lifter roller would ride on center over the hole?? am i seeing this right? kohler and wisconsin industrial engines have had auti realeases on the cam for years, but once started, the eccentric moves out of the way,and the tappet has 100% of cam surface to ride on.
am i seeing this correctly? the lifter rolls over a hole at 0ver 6000 rpm?

Yup, Dennis wonder what heavy spring pressures and high RPM use do to this over the long run? I am sure they are fine as S+S backs them, but i wont be able to try them out unless Bobby Wood starts with them.......lol

The V-Rod is using a similar set up, although a touch more simple since it's OHC and shim under bucket.
