Replacement for TW6H cams
Put about 500 miles on my build now and just dont really like the noise of the TW6H cams. What would be a good replacement set of cams to use that perform as good but dont have the valvetrain noise as the Woods do. Mine is a 95", worked heads, 9.9:1 comp, roller rockers, supertrapp supermeg, PC5 retrofit for my 03. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

A set of the HQ 575's come to mind. I have a set and replaced them with the 6H's. The 6H would pull a little longer in the top end by the feel of a butt dyno. Down low they felt the same.

The TMan Performance TR590 is a very good cam, quiet and excellent upper-low/mid range punch all the way out to red line.

Ozzie is correct...the T-Man .590 is only two to three hq/tq light compaired to the TW6H .590. The T-Man cam also runs much quiter than the TW6H.
The HQ .575 cam is one of the hardest cams to tune and used with a FatCat it can be impossible to dial in across the board.
The 54 is a good cam and it does it's best in a 96'' or 103'' builds, however it's no comparison to the T-Man .590 or TW6H for grunt.
The 37 cam is a great cam for the 95'' build also but again it won't compete with the likes of the TW6H or T-Mans .590

Any pros or cons about the HQ575's that 06roadglide mentioned? I definately want cams that come on low and keep building good through the mid.

Interesting, I ran the HQ 575 with a Fatcat on my 06 Dyna, thought it was a bit lopey on low speed operation but other than that tuned in great. Great cam but have a hard time thinking it would compete with the woods for low end torque with the extra duration.

Sounds like I should lean towards the t-man 590. Will it work fine with my 9.9:1 comp? Does it need more? One thing I forgot, my 6h's are chain drive, im am for sure switching to gears when im in there again.

Stay away from gear drive unless your crank run out is less than .003, or you will have new noises!!

I really like mine, although they do like 10.5:1 comp. This cam has the flatest torque line my tuner has ever seen on a 4" crank.
