103 stage 4 pro race kit need more torque
Hi i'm get a 103 stage 4 pro race kit put on my 08 steet bob the kit comes with, high flow Screamin’ Eagle Performance
110+ Heads large intake valves at 2.120" diameter, high compression forged aluminum 10.5:1 pistons matched to the 110+ heads, an SE260 cam, Perfect-Fit Pushrods, a 58mm EFI throttle body, big 3-7/8" diameter highlighted cylinders,
Super Tuner and injectors. Thay said around 105-110 hp and same in tq.
Is there any thing more i can do to it for more power & torgue should i deck the heads & cylinders to bring the compression up will that make more power.
As my bother has the a 103 in a night train and i want more grunt.
As i ride hard, i can't go slow. Dump the clutch and bag it up.

Bypass that kit and put one together yourself. There's a million ways to spank that SE kit. The SE stuff will make numbers but at the expense of ridability, IMO. Who wants an Ultra that makes 112 ft/lbs at 4500 rpm and 60 ft/lbs at 3000 rpm? A good set of 1.9 or 1.940 heads, nice MATCHING cam and good exhaust and you can ride by on the rear wheel laughing at those with the SE kits. Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong

Not to be a wise guy, but 98"s, with a bolt-in Wood 6, with the proper head mods has historically, repeatedly, shown more.

Don't put 110 heads on a 103 if you're lookin' for torque.

To answer his question rather than hammer on him for his choice on how to spent his money, yes there is a way to pick up more torque have the dealer swap out if he will the 260 cams for the 259e's ,that will improve torque . I am running heads that don't work according to most all on this forum with a TB that is too big and I am not running a Fatcat exhaust , boy this thing of mine probably can't even get out of it's own smell. There is always more than one way to get where you're going. So have fun along the way!

well said. how about changing cams alltogether. maybe a set of gear drive cams for s&S woods in one of their torquey grinds. maybe contact one of these companys directly and see what they think

I wouldn't waste my money on gear drive cams for a 07 on up unless the grind I wanted was only available in gear drive. With the new tensioner setup the days of premature wear are a thing of the past.

ya fine dont get geardrives . i said it out of habit thats all. i didnt mean gear drives give more torque. so contact a cam co or builder an see what they recommend in a non gear drive set of their cams for your engine build to get more torque.

I'd be interested in seeing a dyno sheet on your build

It always comes down to how much money you want to spend. Usually the SE parts are always cheaper then the after market. The kit he is talking about will get him a lot for the money. I agree a better cam choice for a bagger is needed then the 260 but other then that you cannot beat the price, especially if you buy when they are offering a 20% off sale.
