117" build update
I thought you folks would enjoy an update on my 117" build as I have about 3500mi. on it now. 80% of these miles were rode in the mountains of No. Az. and Co. The other 20% were put on in "the Valley of the Sun" (Phoenix area) with temps ranging from high 90's to 110-115. This thing didn't miss a lick and the "smile factor" is still there everytime I throw a leg over her. Just blip the throttle on her going up a steep grade in the mountains and you are around people in an instant. All around mileage is 40-45mpg depending on how hard you want to hammer it. Hit starter button and starts every time(hot or cold). Have forgotten comp. releases a couple times but it starts right up. Real happy with the build. Thanks again Steve and Michele!! Will have to make an apptmt soon for a new rear tire!!

So I guess You have to get Axtell to make longer cylinders? Because isn't the standard S&S rod a 7.600????Or can you run the regular Axtell cylinders with this longer rod???

Most times with the R&R crank you still have to adjust piston TDC. Can be done on a mill or a lathe. I use a mill with a 3 jaw chuck on a rotary table ( with sine plate ) with custom made jaws that hold the piston in the oil ring groove.

I am running the SE camplate in this build. See sig. The motor is super quiet although the neighbors sure don't like the D&D big bore perf. baffle. I kind of take it easy thru the neighborhood but I let it warm up 3-4 minutes before I take off and everyone knows road king 100 is going for a "putt".
