HD gasket kit question

Ordering this gasket kit: Harley Davidson Cam Change Brg & Seal Kit 17045-99C. This looks like it covers all the gaskets I will need for cam change and big bore change except the head gasket and bottom o-ring(using cometic anyways). Anyone verify this?

You would also need rocker box gaskets IIRC. The Cam Service gasket set includes cam cover and lifter cover gaskets, along with some (INA, not Torrington) cam bearings and o-rings. I was inventorying the box last night to make sure it had the lifter gaskets.

If you have an 06 or earlier bike or an 05 or earlier Dyna get the Torrington B-148 bearings, don't use the INA bearings. Lots of failures in the past with the INA, they may be better now but why take a chance? Timken makes Torrington bearings now so you may find them under that name. As of last Nov. when I last checked they're still made in the USA.

It comes with the top rocker box cover and breather gaskets but does not include the base rocker box gasket, the cylinder base orings or the head gaskets which you stated your using cometic. Kit is almost 100 bucks these days, you could piece the gaskets you need together with better bearings for less then the kit.

Yea, probably piece it together. I didn't know which bearings they put in the kit. Thanks guys.

Timken/Torrington B168 for late model bikes. Well worth the money for the piece of mind.
