upgrade to 110
This has probably been discussed before! I have an 09 Ultra Classic and want to bring it up to 110. Several questions.
Should dealer do it?
Will it affect warranty?
What has anyone done to get best results? Heads' cams etc.
just feel i could use the extra power.

Well do you plan on doing any work to the crank?? Adding a timken conversion?? Warranty is a dealer thing not going to go there.
Do you plan on buying the entire 110 kit from the SE catalog, or just the cylinder kit, and porting your stock heads adding a cam??
A simple bolt on 103 or 107 kit with mild cam head porting and tune will net you more that a stock 110 and you will be money ahead.
There are many sources to at least start to look at what a 96 incher makes and then what you can get from a mild bolt on kit. As well stock 110's vs 110s with mods. With SE parts you get limited very fast with there pistons made for there packages, you can go out side the box save some money and have a great running bike.
What kind of extra power are you looking for?? A basic 107 kit with mild cam low compression will make great usable power for normal riding.

well you will get all kinds of answers and suggestions on this one. most will say go bigger or use this and that. and some will be good suggestion for bang for the buck and better than going to a 110! EXAMPLE 103,106,107 117 124 all are better choices.
But you sound like you are worried about a factory warranty.
So if thats the case then find a dealer to install a 113 that will back the warranty after they install it.
I know a little about your area and dont think there is one in the St.Louis area that will. But I know of one 1 1/2 hours away that will. If you decide to go this way pm me and I discuss it with you.
If I am wrong about you wanting the warranity to cover the motor then disregard what I posted. go to a 117 and be done with it. LOL

As stated, If HD warranty is not an issue, and you already plan on going to at least 110. 117/124 is a much better option. A reputable builder can point you in the right direction. Dont know much about your area, but my local dealership would not be the people I would be talking to if I was interested in building my motor.

Before you go to a 110" you should get about the last 5 American Iron articles where Donny Petereson addresses all the head gaskets issues the 110's have.
My understanding is the warranty would stay in place if the kit is installed by the dealer PRIOR to delivery. But you'd want to make sure before you have them do this, and I'd want it in writing.

i have 2008serk and i talked to the dealer about going to a jims 131 that they sell or doing work to the 110 and they told me anywork done to change cubic inches to the motor even there kits voided warranty on the motor so i had scott build me a 117much better choice.

A 107" drop-on kit using Wiesco's piston/gasket kit, along with the proper cylinder head work, and the installation of the cam that would compliment your riding needs, is a hellava lot of fun!!!
No need to pay the labor charges of splitting the cases.

If you let the dealer do it,you might still be disappointed with the power results. My advice, let a good reputable indy do it.You & him need to discuss a package that will compliment your riding style. You will have much better results going that way, then dealing with the dealer.Do your homework & do some research!!!

I did the full S.E. thing on the past two EGs and they ran okay. On the '07 SG I did the 107" with the R&R cast heads and R&R 615 cams, etc and there is no comparison, the R&R runs way better than the S.E. builds.

Steve,
You're right I am being a bit humble. The bike is running excellent thank you. You set it up quite well. Unfortunately, the crank is doing okay. I assume no burnouts or power shifting has something to do with it. Hehehehe. Just got back from a trip 46 MPG ain't too bad either.
Sounds like you are doing well also.
