Below is a list of the parts and rules for the engine. Compression is not set from what I have gathered. many loop holes on what you can do.. this is racing so they work these engine to make mage power for the track.

S&S® UNASSEMBLED 124 ENGINES FOR THE AHDRA 124 CHALLENGE CLASS

S&S 124 Challenge engines are designed specifically to compete in the 124 Challenge class of the AHDRA. They are available in unassembled form and with natural finish only, since it is assumed that aesthetic and performance modifications will be performed to prepare them for the track. They are intended for the racer who wants to take full advantage of all the modifications allowed under the 124 Challenge class rules.

Engines are available with Super Stock® cylinder heads or with S&S Big Fin SA-B2 Special Application cylinder heads. Builders can also choose between standard style flywheels and the new “pork chopped” flywheels, which are considerable lighter for faster acceleration. 124 Challenge engines are available for 1984-’99 big twin chassis and for stock 1999-up big twin chassis. Engines do not include a fuel delivery system. Order Super D or VFI.

There is a huge difference between them, SA engine case, B2 heads, pork chop flywheels and allot of secrets. The spec fuel for that class is VP C25 you need a comp ratio of 15:1 or better (most run about 16:1) to utilize that fuel. You can check out the rules here www.ahdra.com/rulesssc.html

If you would like one built give us a call we would be happy to accommodate you.

Holy snot-balls!!
With a B-2 head @ 15:1, and the .675, and a modified D carb, or the Dual-G's, I have to think that 8.90's would not be a big struggle.
Went 8.80's/148 over 10 years ago with our 108", with a damn rotary-lid 4 spd, and a chassis that moved all over the place.

Mike Roberts of Clinton, OH, racing for Bandit Racing, broke all previous records set in the AHDRA 124 Challenge category. Mike set a new eighth-mile ET and MPH of 5.677/121.58, as well as a new quarter-mile ET and MPH of 8.971/147.17, breaking the records he had set over the past several years.

From early June in Ohio

That's true, but know that the 124 class is DOT tires, no wheelie bars, and no air or electric shifters allowed.

Not knockin' what you accomplished.

DOT street tires, ie slick with tread, but you make a good point.
A Dyna 2-step, with a shifter would pull the ET down/mph up.

claydbal will become famous soon enough
a little trivia, the G2 126 motor makes more power, and is standard height! but it cant run in the proprietary 124 challenge class. it can run other classes that state 124 max, 126 absolute.

wasnt it genious to create a class that only one company produces engines for?

These bikes are not light. Assuming the rider weights 200, that would make the bike about 475lb dry. Read in an old magazine of a fast Panhead back in the day (Big Berta???) that weight in the neighborhood of 375lb. I could be wrong.

Have a local guy with a zippers 4 cam engine with tons of parts from turbos to dual carbs. brand new engine bike had gone 7.80s will complete this build for what ever buyer wants to run. Race gas, mix, or straight alcohol. 9grand complete. Wheelie bar bike , Zippers race trans yada yada. I looked at it hard but no local track and even on race gas too much for the treet although the bike is a DOT legal bike now. AZ has some very easy rules LOL
