Stock 95 vs SE 103 build?
Guys, my last deal fell through. I have found an 08 Street Glide with a 103 SE kit installed when he bought it. Haven't seen the receipt to verify part #'s yet.
How much power difference should I expect? He is offering a decent price on the bike, but there are a lot of bikes out there now. I am looking for a deal since I am leaving the country in June and will need to turn the bike.
Thanks in advance....
Joe

all things being equal, it would be about 4-5% more powerful, but there is a boost in comp because of the larger displacement into the same combustion chamber. If a thin gasket was used even a little more. If it has a free flowing a/c and pipes, it will pump more air, if the cam was changed, it usually makes for better performance. It requires a proper map, you can get lucky with a canned map, but a custom map will be better. The main difference is that you will have more torque.

Thanks, I will post the details this weekend after I see the parts sheet. I think it got the standard SE upgrade, but i could be wrong.
I will be happy as long as it has a good torque curve. After years on sport bikes, I now know its all about the torque

Don't know what the deal you are looking at is but I have heard thru a shop that bikes are being repo'ed at a record pace all over the country right now and going to auction-crazy deals like 13-15k for practically new baggers- 07's, 08's-NOT salvage!
Buyers are in the drivers seat now and I would make sure I was not just getting a good deal but a killer deal!

BTW stock would be 88" or 96" in most cases. If there were any 95" stock bikes, those would be special.

Repo'ed Bikes
How do you think a guy that is losing his bike is going to take care of it or service it for that matter? Now I know on a killer deal you can still make it good even in a bad outcome, but caveat emptor baby, big time!!!!!!

Yup. 2000 to 2004 CVOs (some models) and the 2005 15th Anniversary Fat Boy. The latter is not a CVO bike and it, I believe, is the only regular production HD to ever come stock with the 95".

most have been lugged to death. so maybe he lugged it even harder?
to answer the OP, the oem 103 kit will produce about the same power as a mild 95 build, but the gearing of the 08 will make it much slower than a 95.
hoping that helps.
if i were in the market and wanted to take advantage of the repo deals, i would look for a 07. buy it and have a 103/107 done by an indy.

My bad guys!!! I meant stock 96. I have 5 thumbs on each hand
This is what harley wrote on the receipt for the seller. The part number for the SE kit doesn't even register. I hate some dealerships!! Let me know if something doesn't look right.

No idea what the gasket kit and the roller brg upgrade is, maybe someone else will chime in.
The 1690 Stage 2 kit is a complete kit that comes with barrels, pistons, cams, gaskets and most everything for the top end and to install the cams. It's a hard hitting lowend power kit for a great price. It also needs a proper tune or it can be trouble some (pinging, poor mileage).
I'm really happy with mine.
Chris

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I think they probably did it right but I will have to dyno tune it. He said they only did a download. We will see, going to look at it tomorrow. There are so many Street Glides out there right now, its a buyers market
